Games for kids

I'm looking for games to please an 8 year old boy with limited joystick experience. Dynablaster and Deluxe galaga seem to do the job but most of the other stuff is too difficult for him.
Any further games you can recommend?

I always used to like Rainbow Islands when I was young. I was crap at it but I really enjoyed it

Maybe one of the Ikari Warriors style games? They are pretty standard shooting fare, easy to get into...

Or maybe some bat and ball jobbies such as impact, splat, splat 2, arkanoid 1/2.

Oh yes, some Arkanoid stuff could do it. I totally forgot these games since I never liked them.

Thanks so far.

Splat 2 is an Arkanoid type game. It has a speed selection to make the game easier or harder.

Download the full game with 50 levels from http://www.cd32.co.uk/

Rainbow island doesn't work properly. For some reason the screen flickers all the time. What a pity this looked like my kind of game.

Possibly Alfred chicken? I haven`t really played it much but it seems like a cool little platform game.

Yes, Rodland is quite OK, but still a bit too hard for him. Guess I'll try parasol stars this afternoon.
Alfred Chicken is not possible, as I'm still using my old A500 at the moment. However this will change soon, when I have the PC with MAME and UAE in my arcade cabinet.
