There seems to be a problem with windowed mode and some AGA games (Zool 2, Wheelspin). The screen is corrupted (pic 1). If I switch to full screen everything is OK (pic 2). DX9 and 11

To reproduce: load savestate in windowed mode then switch to full screen.

Toni,
I tried the beta version 4.9
completely omitting voodoo3 with 4.1

so using just uaegfx + 4.1
with a new configuration created from scratch
i only get crash about 10 times just once it works

i tried directd 9 and also 11 but the result is the same

the crash occurs in full screen and also in window

with the previous 32bit beta version released two days ago everything worked.
here the configuration is the dumps

BUG b18: high-res screen in some games (e.g. Trauma Zer0, main menu) are all black.
B16 was still working fine.
Cfg in signature.

Can you clarify where exactly is the problem with LionHeart? I am unable to reproduce (at least in full CE mode, DK and WhdLoad versions). Everything is going well from the introduction to the first level. Thank you.

Main menu is ok for me ( pic 1 ).

Edit :

A1200/3.0 68EC020 Full CE : ok
A1200/3.0 68040+JIT+Fastest : ok

Just a false positive, virus total says it was clean.

You can have my i7-860 (Nehalem) when you pry it from my cold, dead CPU socket!

Seriously though, it seems to run a little bit faster on my i7-860. In Battle Squadron it was using less CPU while the demo playback is running and would turbo faster as well.

I have seen this same Zool 2 bug previously. I don't think this has nothing to do with fullscreen or windowed mode. More like game having blitter timing issues in emulation and sometimes working and sometimes not.

When exactly it crashes? During booting? Before screen opens? After? Random? (Cause is probably some memory overflow because variable used to index array has become negative which can't happen normally. Different compiler optimizations can hide these kinds of bugs.)

Same.

And does black screen mean game still runs normally? (at least normally enough for music/sound effects to play when expected)

Battle Squadron does not have that many copper tricks (mainly top and bottom sprite multiplexer) but at least it has some. So it is good that performance is still fine.

always during the first start before the initial screen of 4.1
the block is immediate

if it can be useful even if you have told me several times that voodoo3 is not supported with 4.1 if I try to start it with voodoo the crash is immediate you do not even see the black screen before the crash

the two-day 32bit ago version where you explained not to comment worked perfectly with both uaegfx and voodoo modes

I didn't save the voodoo dumps so as not to go back to the 4.1 + voodoo speech

if you also need the voodoo dumps I can put them if you want .

I have done this test for many times:
if I remove the cd-rom (accelerator ppc)
full screen works perfectly (uaegfx)

with the same configuration in window and fullwindow it crashes

I confirm. With Grex or Mediator + Voodoo OS4.1 reboot in loop before OS4 initial screen.

Toni, are AGA demos accepted for testing? I noticed some new issues (eg scene texts flickering in Silents-Soulkitchen after man scene, see state file).

In your description for 4.9 beta 18, you wrote :

" Programmed mode (BEAMCON0 and friends) rewrite is still work in progress, some glitches might be visible. ".

Is it better to wait before retesting the demos (AGA and OCS / ECS) ? Thank you.

I made last minute "optimization" related to sprites which broke this.. Don't report any sprite related bugs until next beta

EDIT: winuae.7z fixes this (and incorrectly forcing OCS/ECS bitplane limits when loading some AGA statefiles)

Host > Display > Settings: Remove interlace artifacts ON
must be activated to reproduce the black screen issue with interlaced/hi-res screen in games like Tramua Zer0 intro or Lionheart main menu.
