Floppy disk fMSX 2.3 beta 2 (on Amiga)

Does anybody have fMSX version 2.3b2? I even wrote to author of Amiga port, but he lost his archive with this file long time ago.

Can't you use version 2.3 instead (a 5 seconds aminet search)?

Well... I have v.2.3 for about 2 years. Problem is that v2.3 has few bugs, which are mostly corrected in v2.3b2.

What can I say, except for: Nothing Beats the Real Thing
Sorry for not being of help, but it'd be better to purchase an MSX!

Better say it to WinUAE users.

Right. But "The Real Thing" took too much space in my room . I had to sleep somewhere you know . The big advantage of emulating is SPACE. So much for collecting computers/consoles .

Does an MSX computer REALLY avoids you from sleeping in your bed? Damn, I never had the ENIAC-size model, must be rare.

Even if this discussion surely have been done in another thread, i think emulator are nice :
- to make screenshot of game/demos (i make icons). Hard to rip copper on real amiga
- to get all games/demos on your hard disk ready to use (even those who don't have hd install)
- get several computer in one.
- get some games/utils which are now mostly impossible to find in their original form.
- enable you to see/have some hardware emulation you don't have on your real computer (i've no gfx card on my amiga)
- to help Konrad to have enough space to sleep

Real hardware is nice :
- to get the genuine feeling
- often sound is better than emulate stuff.
- perfect emulation

No, not an MSX. Before I had in my room an Amiga 500, Amiga 4000, C64, C128, Atari Mega ST 2 and my PC. Everything with it's own monitor. And this takes up alot of space .

When someone says he has problems with WinUAE you say "Nothing beats the real thing", when there are problems with an MSX emulator you say "N.B.T.R.T´."...I'm sure you'd say that for every computer/console you like. But those are obviously a lot and they do take a lot of space if you want to own them all. And that's what I mean. If I would own every console I emulate I wouldn't have alot of space left in my room.

Yep. That's it .

Oh, btw: If I wouldnt prefer the "real thing" I wouldn't own the above systems .

The thing about emulators is... there is not one that is perfect. Emulators have their place, but I'll agree that nothng beats the real thing.

Edit: Oh, and I never understood using a $2,000 computer to emulate a $50 piece of hardware.

I do own every computer and console I like (well, almost, which accounts for 35-odd systems.

I do not live in a spacey mansion, actually it's not a very big flat.

And with all of those, and once, even living with a girl in it (and you KNOW how much stuff girlies have), I wasn't even near *out of space*

Sorry but to me it's just an excuse. I obviously DO NOT have all 30something systems hooked up and ready to go, this is not a very sensitive thing to do, but they are there and don't take as much space as people thinks or tries to imply they do. It is also fun to take one out of its storage and hook it up.

It's ok when you have a flat. I just have a room cause I still live at my parents house. Right now the systems are in the loft, with a lot of other stuff. Getting a system out takes some time. And for just playing a game or to I rather like to go the easier way and use an emulator. And by the way: There was a thread where everyone posted his gaming room. And yours was much too messy for my taste if I remember right . But to each his own . Anyways that's a lot of off-topic. Sorry Kazuki for hijacking your thread .

Hmm not sure, for the complete lack of proper furniture i thought it was ok. It's here:
http://www.theblastshack.com/bsakira.htm

That's my parents' house not my flat.

I definitely am picky about order, im a tidy mofo This kind of is our work desk nowadays, not a recent picture though, we have built an L now so we have more space.

I am also interested in this version. I use AmiMSX at the moment. Any news?

PS: Do other people find that when using a screen mode with AGA, the bottom of the screen is always chopped off? Try Pennent Race 2 to see what i mean.

Best Regards,

The bugs can't have been corrected in this beta as it is older than the 2.3 version on Aminet. It is possible that the new version broke a few things though, so in case anyone is still interested I have put beta 2 and beta 1 in the zone.

The original site for Amiga fMSX can still be found on Archive.org:
