Amiga 2000 low sound output

Hi guys,
i have an A2000 with 020, 5 mb ram and 2091 scsi controller among other cards. Everything but the floppy and the sound output works nice. It doesn't matter which software i use, sound output is very low. On a 1084s monitor i have to max the volume to hear anything.
Any ideas on what to focus on? It has not been recapped.
Best

Couple quick thoughts...

1) Are you sure it is not the 1084?
2) There is an LF347 op amp in the A2000 audio circuit that, if failed, could adversely affect both left and right audio as you describe..check that it is getting power and the ground is good. If both are good, try replacing it.
3) You say the floppy and sound are acting up...just so happens Paula does the sound and contributes to disk functions...could be Paula...but I would start with the LF347 if it is not the monitor.

Also be sure to check voltages, bad 12V or -12V could cause this and a bad 12v rail might cause the floppy to not work as well (though if your 2091 has a real HDD on it this is probably not the case because that wouldn't work either)

Hi Liv,
maybe you are right.. I will check for the +12 and -12V lines as my HD didnt want to boot and i had to change it for a scsi2sd which now works perfect.
The monitor isn't the problem, i connect a speaker and i get low volume on sound.. I'm trying to figure out if the sound has distortion too...
I'll update my findings soon...
thanks...

Already discarded as the problem.. im getting low sound output to loudspeakers too..

Ill check that soon... Have to figure out where the LF347 is and some time to test...

I hope thats not the case...
