New power supply for my A1200 DBOX

hello,

I have planned to change the original power supply of my DBox. After searching after some french and english test, I have choosen this one:

Antec Neo HE 430

http://www.silentpcreview.com/article273-page1.html

because:

- no big prize.
- no too powerfull
- seemed to remplace perfectly the original one (size and screw places).
- Can put just additionnal cables on the tower (an not have sata, pciexpress inside for nothing,....).

I would like to have advices (or better choice) because It's the first time of my life I would like to change a power supply for the amiga (and no PC

Advice welcomed, thanks in advance ;-)

Good for you, since every PSU is good enough, but some are pure crap. Beware that some PSU regulate to the +12V rail instead the (required) +5V;

That's a signal of good PSU, since "advanced" ones tend to show unreal power output;

The holes on any PSU is a standard! Just some "special" PSU don't follow the scheme;

PCI-express do nothing in Amiga country! Any PSU is PCI-X aware.

Any good-reputation PSU is OK for Amiga requirements, believe me. even some mid-price are too good. I use a very old Compaq-Presario brand (135Wreal) to run my A1200-MediTator-Voodoo-NIC-DVD-ZipDrive) without no hassle.

Good to hear about you in EAB! See ya in MCP/MediTator ML.

Just see that the atx-at elbox converter (for my old mediator) ad 20 pins (2x10 pins) and the antec power supply is 20 pins+4 pins.

if the 20+4 pins is on one only connector (and not a 20 pins connector + 4 pins conector), I can't use the power supply.

edit: just see this product:

http://www.ldlc.com/fiche/PB00061951.html

24 pins power supply to 20 pins motherboard.

Hope all the mounting work with amiga.

Yep, the adaptor will work, but I'm unsure if you really need it.

AFAIK, the 4 "extra" pins are just 3.3V and GND. Just leave unconnected.
