Has anyone completed Final Fight?
The last boss in the wheelchair is freaking impossible
Does anyone know a way to kill him? |

Well, on the arcade version you have to just keep bashing away...
He is tough though and does take alot of beating BTW, I'm sure you know this already but you can punch his arrows |

If my memory serves me right, you have to force him to the window, when he's close enough, he will fall out.

Nahhh...
He always falls out the window when you've beat all the energy out of him. That's the end sequence |

The problem with the boss is there is no visible indication you are hurting him. And for someone in a wheelchair he can move bloody quickly! Just keep bashing away and eventually he will die. I think it's impossible to complete the game without the "press Help while the TV is on during the intro" cheat.

He will fire a crossbow, I think. Back off while he fires them - retreat so much that he disappears from the screen.
In the brief moments when he isn't firing, walk up to him. He will probably launch an arrow, so jump over that and fly kick him. Timing is important. Once you are close to him, you can bash him repeatedly. |

Hehe, I've been playing games I remember from the amiga under winUAE.
I have got to the guy in the wheelchair described here. Punching & kicking him has no effect. First you can only hit him when he stands up out of wheelchair to shoot. But even when you connect with him no damage appears on his health bar. I ran the timer down twice trying this, you defineatly cannot beat him with puches & kicks. I threw a knife at him, just as he stood up and damage was registered. Would probably take 12-16 hits with the knife to kill him. Problem is; I threw the knife in the direction of the window (so I'm not treking back to the start of the level to pick it up) and the knife ends up stuck too close the window and I can't pick it up. I ran down the timer on my last life looking for another knife. Only my first attempt at this boss, so I may have better luck next time, but if the knife is only way to kill and you can't get infineate use of the knife, game could be impossible. |

In the meantime an Amiga Longplay video was made for this game. I guess you can see there how to beat the final boss

I beat him in coop back when I was young, my older brother played Haggard I think and me Cody or whatever his name was. I can't remember any specifics but we definitely beat the game, but then again maybe we had a trainer

I am pretty sure Richard Aplin wrote somewhere that the final guy is invulnerable (on at least one version of the game) without using the 'Help' key cheat. I am trying to locate where he said that! Was the Youtube video longplay done without any trainers?

The final boss isn't invulnerable, he just has a ridiculously large health bar that goes way off the screen. If you keep hurting him, his health will begin to diminish noticeably after a while and it will deplete just like any other boss'.
I've beaten him with the following method: Just walk towards him and avoid his line of sight (move either up or down if he starts shooting). If you can get directly under or above him, wait for the moment when he drives his wheelchair to your level - THAN you are close enough to get in one punch (you can see from the animation that he is hurt). Repeat. It's a painstakingly slow and boring process, but not hard at all if you get used to it. |

Amazing!
Here's the interesting everything2 article where the programmer talks about writing Finalfight's Amiga port: http://everything2.com/user/FryingLi...ps/Final+Fight |

I'm pretty sure I've completed the game on Amiga without cheating. Or was it the Xbox Live Arcade version?? Hmm.... I should give it a try with WinUAE. |

It's the developers memory that seems bugged. The longplay video is clearly done without a cheat and he manages it. Very tough though.

As my earlier post suggests, I'm pretty sure I have completed the game without cheats as well. Using Haggar.
