I think the "fix" is for improve the supply of the motherboard and avoiding some minor issue in the video quality, but surely is not "in every ECS Indivision" as Jens Schönfeld said...
I hope they tested it enough before producing new batch of them!!
Today i'll probably get a Amiga 500 for new tests....

...but i am very disappointed that i spent over 150 € and Vesalia.de didn't give me no support nor warranty!!!!

If you weren't so far away I'd gladly make you test it on my A600 :P

We should have to organize an Amiga party in italy!
Anyway, if the ECS will run fine on the A500, i could send you for testing..
do you have the A604 too?

update: Vesalia reply me (they takes some day, but we are on August... offering to refund me or to send them my A600 for further investigation!
In the meanwhile, I've bought another A600 (no space here too, but it will be useful for spare parts..) and i'll test A604 and ECS with it.
I'll keep you informed!

update2:
i've bought a second Amiga 600, and Indi don't work with the new amiga too!!

Today i'll return ECS Indivision+A604 to Vesalia for a check and replacement.

I don't know if the fault is the fix or my ECS (or A604) are simply broken...
i hope Vesalia (or Individual Computer) answer us about this!

FWIW I have a similar 'mod' on my Indi ECS from Amigakit:

I'm also sending mine back this week due to a problem in my A500 Rev 6A which I hope they can replicate and hopefully fix.

Thanks FOL!

I'll be sending it back either tomorrow or Wednesday. I'd be interested (as would others) to know what this 'fix' does and what it involves if possible.

in my case, Vesalia is still waiting for the result of the test of mine boeards...
i think they have involved someone else in investigating about my ECS and A604, since a simple check if the hardware is working or not doesn't need 3 weeks!!!!
They asked me a little patience.....
Anyway, i hope the solution that FOL's talking about will be fine for my case too.....

So what's the deal with this new batch ?
I have one Indy ECS, but still haven't got around to testing it. It bums me to think it can be faulty as well

They react to ripples on the supply on certain PSU's.
The first fix fixed about 90% of issue, new fix should solve 100% of issue.

Jens is best person to answer in detail.

Well, I have 3 PSUs. I hope it will work properly with at least one of them
If not, off to the fixing it goes...
Anyway, I would like to hear more from Jens. Even if mine works, just for educational purposes

@FOL, are you able to share details of these fixes? I have a couple of minor problems with my Indi, I suspect at least one of them is power related.

Thats up to Jens, but you could always just look at the board.

Which version do you have new batch or old batch?
Does it say "dont install denise on A600"?

Urgh I'm not sure and I just buttoned it all up again last night

Is it printed on the silk screen of the pcb? I can't see it on a photo I have of the upper side. I know I bought it from you in January 2011.

Then it will be a first batch, so this issue doesnt apply to you.

Thanks FOL, I kinda knew I wasn't having these particular problems that require this fix since it only affects one particular monitor(which happens to be my favorite). But I still wonder if it could be a similar problem because it seems to be a power issue.

I posted about this a while ago but it is bugging me again now because winter is upon us, (colder). I get black screen for about 5-15 mins, (depending on room temperature), from first cold boot of amiga. I know the amiga has otherwise ooted normally because I can run things blind from a shell and hear sound, see HD access etc, or see composite output.

The reason I think it is power AND temperature related is that for a few more minutes after the screen does come up, if I do something to draw extra power, like insert a floppy, the screen goes black again for a few secs until disk access is done. After a further short period of warming up, everything is fine.

Indi is fine on all other monitors, monitor is fine with all other video sources. It is not the monitor warming up, if I leave it off while the amiga warms up, then turn it on, screen comes up straight awway.

The A600 has new caps and I've tried several PSUs.

Here's the old thread about this -
http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=61717

But since then I have tested other CRTs which don't do this and other PSUs which still show the problem.
