Was a demo of the Legend of Kyrandia ever released for the Amiga? maybe on a coverdisk?

Doubt it as the final release was 9 disks and most mags usually only devoted 1 coverdisk to a game demo. Still, some mags used custom disk formats to squeeze big demos on to single disks, so you never know.....

Yes, I know about the PC demo, available on Westwood's FTP stie. I'm looking for an Amiga specific demo of this game.

I know you looking for an amiga demo, but this just show DrBong that a demo could be made as a small file

Erm, I would never have known that if you hadn't told me!

I had a look through a lot of my Ami mags and couldn't find anything mentioned about a Kyrandia coverdisk demo on any of them. I was buying a lot of Ami mags around 1992 and TBH I can't remember a Kyrandia demo either.

The URLs below all relate to Amiga coverdisk demos, but I couldn't find anything mentioned about Kyrandia:

Out of curiosity, why are you chasing the Kyrandia demo anyway?

I already searched Amiga Coverdisks Site, The Nth Dimension and this forum, before posting this request.

Unfortunately the coverdisks section at Planet Emulation doesn't list the contents of most coverdisks, so it isn't much help.

An Amiga demo could help improve support for the Amiga version of Legend of Kyrandia in the ScummVM project.

ScummVM is cool

Wouldn't the full Amiga game be better for this purpose though?

Yes, we just bought the full Amiga version of the Legend of Kyrandia. But an Amiga demo would still be useful, for the project.

Sorry for the Off Topic guys.

You know there is also an FM Towns version of The Legend of Kryandia and The Legend of Kryandia 2: Hand of Fate... Unfortunately they are only in Japanese though

Actually, quite a while back I offered to give one of the admins on the ScummVM forum "full / non ripped" images of the following FM Towns games for development purposes as they seemed to be after them:

... Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis
... Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade
... Loom
... Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge
... The Secret of Monkey Island
... Zak McKracken and the Alien Mindbenders

The guy said ScummVM only wants originals so if I was prepared to buy them then donate it would be cool...

This is ludicrous... As said above the images I have are "full / non ripped" ones made from a friend's originals. These games are so very rare, hard to even track down for sale and finally if you do actually manage to source them, very expensive. I don't mind donating things for a good cause but who in their right mind would donate these gems when you don't have much chance of finding them again

We discourage all use of pirated games, as we keep the ScummVM project legit. By been a legit project, we have been allowed to use the original source code of several games for reference, and even been allowed to release a few games as freeware.

I can totally understand and am cool with that

...just thought that offering images of rare, expensive originals to the ScummVM team in order to further development would have been a good thing. You may never get them any otherwise, I certainly know that my friend who paid over £1000 for the FM Towns LucasArt / LucasFilm collection would never give them up. Took him over a year to even track them down for sale...

Anyway
