Problems with AD516 Card

I am having problems getting my AD516 sound card running correctly and need some guidance. It seems to work fine when used with the Studio 16 software. When I don't have the Studio 16 software loaded into the machine I can't get any sound out of the card. The only time I can get sound without Studio 16 running is when I load AHI prefs. If I hit the test button in the prefs program I get a distorted partial beep and then the A2000 locks up and needs a reset. This leads me to believe it might be an AHI problem. I am using the AD516 driver from Aminet. Can somebody with a working AD516 card give me some things to look for and to try? Thanks

I have two cards. One I started to use in one of my A4000s, the second will be installed in my soon-to-arrive A2000. I'm using the card with OS3.9. The AHI driver you DL-ed needs a file from the original disk(s), to work properly.
This card is a serious miracle for me btw, as I did everything well (as teh readme says) but had no luck to get any clear sound. Then >somehow< the card started to operate properly. I'll check the files it uses, and if I'll can copy into an archive, I'll upload it.
BTW, this card gives a short booting signal at every reset. I'll check then all the important files from AHI and the original disks.
