Really, really cool these updates!
These multiple height levels really look mindblowing.

It will be quite something to see the A500 finally run doom levels.

KK unlocks the 100% Amiga achievement!

Well, we have to be realistic on the Doom maps, because later levels on Doom, are really large (both in height and width), and I suppose Dread can't handle them on plain 7Mhz A500 with just 1MB of Ram.

Fortunately for us ID made a version of Doom for 1MB systems, the maps just have fewer textures.

I don't mind it being cut down at all, it's just fun to see it.

Pretty much any 90s console port is the 1MB version.

I believe ID did the Jag port themselves, then the other ports are a port of that.

Amigas with 68030 cpu would benefit if any of doom ports could support these 1mb versions, they should be quite much faster..

the extra Ultimate Doom episode maybe, but what you describe is mostly Doom 2 which was made for higher specs. Back in the day we were running Doom on a 386 DX 40 and we pretty much stuck with Doom 1 because Doom 2, if we could even get it to boot with 4mb of memory which was a challenge, ran even worse than Doom 1

The point is that the original Doom 1 trio episodes of maps are pretty basic and maybe doable for the A1200 version of Dread. But who would want that? I quote Civvie11 in his hilarious Hedon video:

"For anyone making a game in GZDoom, a pox on you for making another demon shooter in hell again!"

Let's not try to create Doom in Dread, it needs to be its own thing.

Yeah, that's perfectly fine with me.
Yet, people are really curious about it (and that's also perfectly fine with me) , and even KK himself did a video with variable heights (1st Doom level), that I hope he will soon share.

I've played and finished first Doom 1 trio episodes, and from what I recall, there were some giant elevators, and some huge maps... it's been a while... maybe Dread will be able to handle it.. dunno... just saying that is already impressive as is, and I wouldn't be disappointed if it can't handle some of the Doom maps.

It's already butter smooth on my 68000/14Mhz, with some fast Ram.
With 030 you could run Red Dead Redemption 2 in Dread engine ( I am kidding, but you get the point ).

Multiplayer, doom E1M1 map. But it does not seem like new demos or videos are available anymore unless you are a Patreon

It's a new WIP game called 'Dread'. It's a first person shooter for a500. There's a whole series in youtube about the game's development. Here's the latest episode : [ Show youtube player ]
There's also a 1 level demo you can try yourself

Too many news to list but here are some:
- The community is currently super active and there are several maps made already (at some point we'll release a community pack with these levels).
- New SDKs are released every month with tons of extra features. Latest SDK included (among others) switches and all sorts of triggers (enemy spawns, teleporting, open/close doors and walls e.t.c.) as well as variable map loading and maps testing via UAE.
- KK has already prototyped variable heights and stairs and he is currently optimising the engine.
- There's also a deathmatch mode via serial that is currently in the works.
- On the gfx side we have quadrupled the available textures, added several new items and there's also a new enemy coming soon.

That new monster is beautifully pixeled!
Great to hear about the other new features as well.
But, if I may ask... is music being worked on?
