More colours than 256 possible in A1200???

Doubting, but asking anyway.. Is it possible to get upgrades to increase the screen colour/mode to hicolor or better?

You would need to:

a) Get a BlizzardPPC accelerator and fit the graphics card to it.
OR
b) Tower your Amiga, fit a Zorro/PCI board and use a graphics card.

...not to mention that by using RTG u will notice a huge improvement in your amiga (unless u only play games with it, in that case rtg is not used)

If it's just to display a picture HAM8 will give you 262,144 colours on screen simultaneously. You cannot do much else except watch it but it's ok for JPG etc.

Thanks folks. I had my first look at OS3.9 on my emulated 1200, and thought it looked fantastic. I'm sure it looks even better in hi-color.

There was also the Graffiti card http://ami.ga/products/graffiti_e.htm that can be used on a basic A1200, just plug it onto RGB card but this card wasn't so much supported
