And that is your choice. Took me less than 2 hour to complete the game, where some new games (for example Ghost of Tsushima on PS5) have longer intro into the game... Played it as time permitted, and thanks to save states, you don't have to replay boring parts until you learn later level secrets...

Last few weeks I played quite few NES game that I missed first time around, and I find them impressively playable and enjoyable.

Just played through SMS Bubble Bobble.

Kind of funny when you release that game is Japanese at the end of the game.

Over past week I've played couple of games to the end:
Action Fighter (SMS)
Cloud Master (SMS)
Castle Of Illusion (SMS)
Kirby's Dream Land (GB)
Snow Bros (NES)
The New Zeland Story (Arcade)

Played Galaga and Galaxian, both on NES, 15 stages each. Too bad I did not own this as kid back in the day.

After reading some articles from late 80s, earlier 90s, tried Bad Dudes for NES, and first word in title summarizes the game.

Rarely, when I don't like to spend hours learning the game strats, I would just turn cheats on, and this is one of those games were I have done it.

Been catching up with games that I were supposed to review after having played them some time ago but for some reason or another never did.

Went back to Mega Man: The Wily Wars on Mega Drive and it was just as bad of a collection of remakes as I remember it being. Slowdowns, laggy controls and odd changes made to the original games which makes everything play worse.

Leger vs. Mega Man: The Wily Wars (Mega Drive)

Finished up two games over the weekend. For my goal of trying to beat one Arcade game a week goal for 2023 I beat Pit Fighter despite its flaws its one of those games I just can keep going back to from time to time. It is a great game? Not really but I still get enjoyment playing it.

For the first console game I beat this year I beat Yakuza 4 Remastered on the PS4. Going back after all these since playing it the first time on the PS3 reminded me how much I enjoyed this game.

Finished couple of games...

Alex Kidd in Miracle World (SMS)
Addams Family (SMS)
Alien Syndrome (NES)

Played many levels on Terra Cresta (NES and Aracde), Frogger and Pucman (Arcade only)

Would not probably finish any of them without Save States and Rewind.

Last night played Shinobi (SMS) to the end and then made a mistake and started Shadow Dancer (still SMS) and had WTF moment?!

I just find it hard to figure out how did they go from a good game to this crap in 3 years?! (Shinobi was released in 1988 and Shadow Dancer in 1991)

From single touch death to crappier graphics and game play. Just unbelievable. Played first level and first boss and just had enough of 'fun'... Started playing Fantasy Zone.

Oof, I can't even watch more than 30 seconds of a video. What a terrible port.

It's a single hit death game so I will never have any love for it, but the arcade version and by extension the Amiga port which is quite decent are probably the most playable single hit death games I know. I can stomach them for 10 minutes rather than 5 minutes.

I played it on Amiga, and even with single hit, it was still playable. This was just ugly and terrible port, almost unplayable.

EDIT: After watching longplay on YT - it is the same glitch that occurs on first bonus round that I experienced last night. You don't miss any of enemies and game glitches at the end, failing you.

Only positive side is that game is very short... if that counts. (where is he hitting final boss? )

Still might finish the game knowing that suffering is short lived.

Oh.

Do try The Cyber Shinobi on the SMS.

It makes Shadow Dancer look like a masterpiece.

I am not looking for worst game ever on SMS, but thank you for warning... It seems that most of SMS games lacked 'seal of approval' or something similar that Nintendo forced on their customers.
