RetroPassion / AmigaPassion MIA???

Does anyone know the guy Steve from RetroPassion / AmigaPassion?

I sent of my Amiga 1200 motherboard to him last week for a re-capping and from what I can tell it was signed for and delivered on Monday to his address.

I've sent him a few emails asking if he got it ok and haven't received any response back. The last one I sent was on Tuesday 14th.

So I'm just seeing if anyone knows the guy or has some contact with him as I'd very much like to know what is going on with my Amiga at this point? I wouldn't be worried had I had a response back but since I've heard nothing I'm concerned particularly as he could have Coronavirus for all I know and not be able to respond but I don't know that so the uncertainty is somewhat bothering.

I'm sure if some of you were in the same boat you would be concerned too.

Got my A1200 board back today, used Steve many times and always a superb service, I find he's very responsive via Messenger so I tend to use the app rather than email.

I know he's got a lot going on, particularly now he's added other Retro kit to his range of services so possibly just a little behind..... you're in safe hands

That is good to hear, I was just worried because initially his responses via email were like lightening. So couple that with suddenly zero response and you see where I'm coming from right?

When you say messenger you mean Facebook messenger? Saw that on the retropassion website but I have avoided facebook for the last 15 years thankfully

I left it 3 weeks after sending my board off, then got no responses to update requests for the next couple of weeks before I got a response, then received my board back all done. This seems fairly typical based on various posts I have seen.

Jeez right I get ya. Because at one point I asked could he do timing fixes and since I got no response and then I changed my mind about the timing fixes as I can do them myself should I need them with my new accelerator so I don't even know if he got that message or acted upon it or not.

Hearing what you have just said though puts me at ease......apart from the fact someone called "Clifford" signed for the Amiga

Right that is good to know, I will wait and see what happens (am getting Amiga withdrawal can't you tell?)

He's pretty active in the Commodore Amiga facebook group so you could message him there if you are a member.

No it's fine I can wait. As mentioned above I don't have facebook. If I get really desperate I will ask someone I know to go through friendface but going by what others have said I shall wait a while longer.

I sent him my A600 a while ago, did a great job. I must remember to send my A500 for a recap/repair.

That's good to know also, so thank you

Just making this clear, it's not that I don't think he is legit, I just was wondering if everything was ok with my Amiga arriving with him as there was no response to my emails.

I knew he had a great reputation before I decided to contact him.

My concern was that perhaps something had happened to him hence the radio silence.

But now others have said this is how he does things, that has put my mind at ease.

Still the Amiga withdrawal is bad

Well he has been contacted by a mate on my behalf via facebook messenger and I was told to email him with my invoice etc. So I emailed him yesterday. Still not heard anything back. Last actual response I had was 17 days ago.

As mentioned in my own thread http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?p=1416221 I've had the same issue with no responses to my messages. Even though he has a good reputation, the lack of communication leaves a feeling of uncertainty.

No but if you go to the website and from there I think you can contact him via Facebook messenger, and Facebook seems his primary method of communication and he seems to respond to that?

Day 20.......................................

As CrazyC says he seems to respond to the faceache messenger which is weird cause he was very responsive to me with emails when I first contacted him. In fact I think he responded within the first 5 mins of me sending an email one Saturday evening.

@amigatime Don't really see why you need to go to that trouble considering you purchased the service on ebay but it's worth a shot man!
