Okay, what else is that than a EEE PC subnotebook clone with 'Commodore' on it?

Given the price of this netbook it looks like the makers might by aiming to continue the tradition.

That appears to be a re-branded Elonex Webbook, so for 60 quid you get what? An extra 1/2 gig of ram and some Commodore stickers? Sounds like a pretty shabby deal to me.

OpenPandora for me... There's been Via C7 based laptops in the UK before now for under 200 quid: in fact, I think it was last Christmas that they were around. As noted above, keeping the commodore tradition alive and well!

I think I'll probably just get a Pandora tbh. Looks nice, but then I like all the EE -PC type machines.

It would be great if someone would reveal the specifications. I want to know how that LCD is backlit and if the memory and storage are upgradable (or at least user accessible).

No way, 'cause it doesn't, like, have electrolytes. Or something.
It does have a VIA C7-M clocked at 1.6GHz though which makes it just a tiny bit different to the other products in that category. Going by that engadget article it's not quite out there yet. Last edited by ausPPC; 07 September 2008 at 06:47. Reason: can't spell? |
