Slow internet connection on WinUae

My internet connection is very slow under WinUae I'm not sure if the problem is me or WinUae just doesn't allow faster connections.

I have an internet connection DSL 16000 (16000 kbit/s)

I use WinUae AmigaOs4.1 network adapter RTL8029.

Is there any way to improve the internet connection?

I wouldn't say 1M/s is that slow.. (I'd have expected max few hundred kb/s)

It probably is due to lots of layers between emulated stack and outer world, especially if it is using slirp. Npcap mode might be faster.

8029 should not limit it (even if it is 10Mbit in real world), unless driver has lots of overhead because it (or hardware) was not designed for faster operation.

Thank you for the explanation. I didn't know that the emulation limits it that way.
