Amiwin with bsdsocket.library 4.347 (roadshow 1.14) crashes
I posted issue here at this forum:
https://www.amigafuture.de/viewtopic.php?t=51359 I'm having an issue with Amiwin with bsdsocket.library 4.347 (roadshow 1.14). I tried both the generic one and the 68020+ one and having same issue. When loading various tools (fvwm, xcalc), etc. I'm getting the following hits. This seems to only happen when I'm using the amitcp transport and the xtrans.library seems to be interacting with bsdsocket.library. Without MuForce/MuGa active the machine will crash with 8100 0005. I went back to MiamiDx (that has a bsdsocket.library 4.1), and not seeing any issue -- no crash and no hits and hence suspect something going on with roadshow and amiwin. Olaf, I'm not sure if you saw the post previously and so posting here in case you might see it. I can be contacted by PM for more info. |

I made some progress here in case this helps anyone else in future. Create global HOSTNAME variable in ENV: and copy to ENVARC: for next time. With this set, I no longer see crash with Roadshow.
Miami is creating a bunch of env. variables during runtime that is not there for Roadshow--in particular HOSTNAME appears to be critical for Amiwin. More details at: https://www.amigafuture.de/viewtopic.php?t=51359 |
