Thanks JOTD! Gave it a quick test and it seems solid, it'll go in the Feb update of CD32 & Beer.

One minor note - I notice that the old slave is included in the archive (NorthAndSouth.slave vs North&South.slave) - was this intentional?

nope, it's a problem. I'll fix this. Use the one with "And". "&" symbol may cause issues on some systems (in Linux it's the symbol for "run in background" so I changed it but forgot to update the rest)

Superfrog floppy slave in the zone: joypad controls (pause=play, esc=fwd+bwd) + 2nd button jump

Slave only uses chipmem, but I have a fastmem version available

thanks for testing it. One quick question: CD32 version seems to lack CD32 pad support too, and it's probably not Codetapper's fault. I see no reference to "lowlevel.library" in the executable.

I'll add it back, but was just curious. Strange for a CD32 game not to have CD32 pad support for pause & quit current game.

Well I think it's on the contrary the only example where they didn't even care porting the pause & quit options. Even lame Core Design CD32 ports had CD32 pad controls.

Damn, nice. Going to take that for CD32 and Beer

Two button jump on Bubble Bobble works for both players, I assume?

I haven't tested it but it should I have to adapt to all the versions, no need to release an half-patch.

Oddly enough I started a project on that myself to put jump on second button. It kind of worked but there were larger frustrations with that game that just made me give up (eg, the hitboxes on the flying enemies were far too small - though I suppose that itself could have been fixed).

Anyway, I've got a request for Barbarian - just for it to be playable without a keyboard (just fire on joystick 1 for 1P and fire on joystick 0 for 2P would be fine). I could maybe have a look at adding that myself to the slave, but I still don't know where to begin!

Death Mask! It's much more bearable with strafing.

Hello,

These patches are great, thank you very much JOTD. Like the others Bubble Bobble is greatly enhanced with 2 buttons gameplay.

I have a little problem with the floppy version of Superfrog, the jump length of Superfrog is still the same and don't seem related to the duration i press the jump button.
This doesn't happen with the CD32 version which works perfectly. The only problem i found with the CD32 version is it displays two times on the whdload launch screen the key help to skip current level, very minor issue

Does anyone have the same problem with the floppy version or is it my setup ?

Jeje yeah I dismissed your report because I tested it, but if you say it only happens with floppy version I'll test again.

BTW Desert Strike is about to be released with CD32 enhanced controls (no need for keyboard, even level passwords are hardcoded to avoid typing them), Chaos Engine 2 (AGA) was also released to use CD32 buttons for pause, esc, etc...

Feel free to keep suggesting games, and bump requests if needed.

Very nice for Desert Strike en Chaos Engine 2, thank you

Yes, problem is only with floppy version. If it can help, i noticed on floppy version that you can jump higher if you press up with the jump button together.
But maybe it is my setup ?

For suggesting games, i think of two great games which can benefit for second button : Brian the Lion and Venus the flytrap
