Lionheart PC Remake Project

Hi,

this thread is about a conversion of the Amiga game Lionheart and is hopefully posted at the right place.

Pierre-Alexandre from Byron 3D Games Studio Website started the Lionheart PC remake project a year ago. Because of technical difficulties development had stopped at early stage but is now continued in C++. An early alpha version, a playable techdemo and a video of the Lionheart PC remake project are online. Get the files here
.

I mailed Pierre-Alexandre the ripped Lionheart graphics which were posted on this board. He asked me about the Lionheart background graphics.

My guess is, that the colour bars in the background of the stage graphics are not saved as graphic files but are programmed into the game.

Anyone, who knows more about the Lionheart graphics? Pierre-Alexandre told me that he's good in programming but not in graphics ;-). So he would appriciate help concerning graphics issues.

There is also a "Wings of Death" PC remake project (http://www.blazingwings.fr.tc/). Hopefully the development of the Lionheart remake will come to a good end (=playable game).

Hi all,

It's me Pierre-Alexandre, programmer of Lionheart Remake.

I can see that i'm not alone loving this old game type :=)

Short history sentence: Lionheart was my first game, when i was 5 years old, and of course, the 1st i finished. It was wonderfull ! ( My Amiga still working ! )

This is why i want to make a remake, for fun, for my own-memory, and for all people who loved this game, and still love it !

As Gerry said it, the 1st Preview is released, with 4 screens and one Video.
I expect you will like it

Then, i must leave, good night, Amiga rulez.

Welcome on EAB Pierre-Alexandre. Yes, you found the "right" forum. We all love the old games. Lionheart is still one of my favorites.

The umcus.org server is gone. Killed off by YouTube and MySpace (no-one wants to join a Computer Society at Uni anymore).

I am currently in the process of setting up a new hosting. We'll be back before the end of the month.

Nice to see some more remakes!

Lionheart was one of my favorites games, but it took me more then 10 years to realize that when I completed game I had not so happy ending.

Thanks to EAB and WinUAE I was able to complete game again.

You don't found the secret level ?
There are two end. I suppose you speak about that
I think it's a little hard to found the secret level ...

Just a little Off Topic: What is your favourit level ?
I love the level just before the end, with the water rising !
