Ok, got the "EV_Nova.hfv" to show:
...but now I need to work out the issue related to 800x600; and the screen being cut off:

Makes sure that both size and the screen mode is 800x600 in Shapeshifter GUI. Looks like you have 800x600 size with 640x480 screen mode.

You should be able to switch to colors mode at Control Panels -> Monitor & Sound.

Thanks for all your help Aardvark

This is what my ShapeShifter "Graphics..." options are set to:
For all other games I've configured it's usually 640 x 480.

When setting 800 x 600 the screen is cut off like below:

This doesn't work for me and gives an error, I had to use the "bar" below to change colors:
If you like I can upload my test .HDF for you to see if you can work it out?

There's maybe only 2 x other MAC games that I might add in future:
So I've now tested both games in "Basilisk II for Windows".

Unfortunately Star Wars: TIE Fighter requires a MAC PowerPC

Star Wars: X-Wing works though

Now I need to test in "ShapeShifter"

Ok, Star Wars: X-Wing is now all setup and working in ShapeShifter
Currently it's set as "Mouse" control, need to set as "Joystick" and work out how to calibrate etc...

Shapeshifter doesn't support analog joysticks, so X-Wing is waste of time.

It works fine with "Mouse", guess I'll leave it at that then

For some reason; I have no "Intro Music" even though the option is ticked:
Same thing happens in "Basilisk II for Windows" also though...

Phew, that was a few days work...

Escape Velocity Nova has now been setup and is working perfectly

There was one issue though that I had to get around. Basically you could launch the game, create a pilot, enter the ship and then play. If however, you now quit emulation and start again, the menu icons are corrupt and when you enter the ship the game crashes with this:
A similar thing happens in "Basilisk II for Windows" and the emulator crashes...

Not sure what's occurring but something is being written to the MAC OS 8.1 and corrupts things...

Couldn't work out how to solve so had to think outside the box

Basically, got around this by doing the following:
  • Create a copy of my clean "MacOS8.1.hfv" file and rename this to "Backup.hfv".
  • When emulation starts, before lauching into ShapeShifter emulation, copy "Backup.hfv" --> "MacOS8.1.hfv".
  • Game saves are still valid as they go in the "EV_Nova.hfv".

I ended up using "JoyMouse" so that I can use my Xbox 360 wireless controllers. Works ok; and you can still use the mouse if you want.

I also tried setting these buttons via "Macjoypad" for the controller, but unfortunately it conflicts with above in terms of movement (even though I hadn't set Up / Down / Left / Right)

Code:
RED Shoot
BLUE 0 - Shields
GREEN - - Decrease Speed
YELLOW + - Increase Speed

PLAY I - Combat Identification / Targeting

FORWARD W - Change Weapons
BACK X - Weapon strength

Hi everyone, first post! I fell down a www wormhole and ended up here trying to find a way to enjoy some old Amiga demos and games. I would so much appreciate access to the collection. An old friend of mine had an Amiga and he would invite me and a few other friends over to see these incredible games which at the time were way ahead of what we were used to. We all had NES and thought it was the best thing ever until we laid eyes on something like Shadow Of The Beast. Anyway, he passed away a few years ago and I am wanting to experience many of the games he showed me that I never got to play myself. I would really appreciate it.

Here is the first part of "Update Pack #47"

In this release again, I've added a lot of MAC / Shapeshifter games. I believe I've now satisfied my thirst for any cool MAC games.

Details are as follows:

7 game updates:
... Alone in the Dark [RTG] [ShapeShifter]
... Arcticfox
... Heretic & Hexen [AmigaCD] [RTG] [MS-DOS conversion]
... Santa Run [AGA]
... Streets of Rage [demo]
... Stryx
... Who Framed Roger Rabbit

2 configuration updates:
... Aladdin [AGA].uae
... The Settlers II - Veni, Vidi, Vici [RTG] [ShapeShifter].uae

4 new "cheats / hints / level codes / manuals / maps / walkthroughs" additions:
... 3D Ultra Pinball - Creep Night [RTG] [ShapeShifter]
... 3D Ultra Pinball - Fastest Pinball in Space [RTG] [ShapeShifter]
... Abuse [RTG] [MS-DOS conversion]
... In Shadow of Time [AGA]

10 new game additions:

Code:
3D Ultra Pinball - Creep Night [RTG] [ShapeShifter]
3D Ultra Pinball - Fastest Pinball in Space [RTG] [ShapeShifter]
Alone in the Dark (Enhanced CD-ROM) [RTG] [ShapeShifter]
Escape Velocity Nova [RTG] [ShapeShifter]
Escape Velocity Override [RTG] [ShapeShifter]
Power Pete [RTG] [ShapeShifter]
Santa Rocks
Space Invaders
Star Wars - X-Wing [RTG] [ShapeShifter]
Tapper [demo]
This now brings the total number of games in my collection to 3230

It's currently uploading and PMs will be sent shortly

First of all, thank you for all your time dedicated to this project. This is one of the most complete collections I have ever seen. Of course, it would not be possible if not for the great emulator from Toni Wilen. The screens are large and readable, searching for games works great. Every game is set up and ready to run. It is a pity that many games are in floppy-version, although there is already a whdload version. I understand changing each game again would take another 5 years. The CD and HD versions work great, and lots of unreleased games. I only missed a few games in the collection (Franko, Doman, Testament 1 + 2 and Hanger18), but after that there is everything that I played a long time ago. In addition, Evil's Doom works only after changing the processor to 68020 (probably something has changed in the newer version of WinUAE). Thank you again for a great job. Greetings

Hi reenstix,

Thanks for taking time to provide feedback

I'll address a few points:

Thing is, I love cracktros / trainers for that old school / back in the day feeling... plus you can set "Floppy Drive Emulation Speed" to "800%" for 95% of games, and use "Warp Mode" in order to speed up boring loading times.

Finally, sometimes with WHDLoad some screens whizz by way too fast / music doesn't play long enough; which is annoying to me.

People have asked for Franko: The Crazy Revenge! and Doman before. Personally I think they are rubbish... I guess I may add them in future though, just for completeness.

Interesting, works fine with v4.4.0

I assume this issue is with one of the latest v4.5.0 betas?
