Yes of course, but you need the CRTC version 4, made in Indonesia, serial number 155.823.480 and your television to be Panasonic, model of 1990 with speakers under the screen

And I will never understand how these people simply were not interested to switch over to an Amiga later on.

(which I found out many years later, since almost everybody who I knew back then who had an C64 bought an Amiga later on. I thought the Amiga was as successful as the C64 and couldn't understand why Commodore folded. Until I heard the sad truth.).

Does that new CPC version you have feature all arcade frames for both fighters, arcade AI and sound in the remaining 64k? Also I assume it is NOT a multiload right?

Don't forget that lying sack of shit Steve Jobs was quite happy to continually publish those ads in the early 80s saying that Apple was top selling computer when it was #3, got beaten to the 1 million mark by the C64 etc etc. These corporate types are always going to talk up their own company figures, so although 1 million MAY be accurate for the CPC in France, I have my doubts - especially so since it's such a round number!
Amstrad, to the contrary of Atari for instance, never hide their sales numbers.

They really sold 1 million of CPCs here. The exact number is 1,2 and dirts millions of CPC sold.

It has to be noted, that contrary to what the IT bosses of this era were, Marion Vannier was a pioneer, and a full of merit woman worker.

she said this in an interview in 2011 :

"Specialized resellers in micro-computing all over in France were ordering us machines under the final consumers pressure. It was a true grocery and no big hypermarket wanted to invest and work in this sector. It took me a lot of work to empty our stock. But this was really under the customers pressure that the sales went wild... « The right product, at the right time and at the right price !! »

Our first public mass distributor was the « La Redoute » catalogue which had a full page on our products. It was important for us, because this catalogue was able to distribute us all over the french territory.

".....We have sold 1 million de CPC just in France. This represent one third of all the CPC sold by Amstrad in the world !!!".

Amstrad France was Marion Vannier's property, as she said, it was her baby, and she as well as her staff put a lot of work to run Amstrad France.

What she did just throw out the other competitors out of the table including Thomson, Commodore, Alice Matra.

I thought this thread was supposed to be about Street Fighter on the 6128? Your CPC sales figures are, frankly, dull.

I guess it's because the original poster started making comparisons to other formats which baited everyone e!se.
Also this thread wouldn't be half as exciting if we only discussed the very limited CPC demo of SF2.

Time for a new CPC thread then? Or resurrect an old one? I'm all for reading about how good the cpc/c64/bbc/msx/spectrum were but this thread has derailed badly.

+1 (nothing against a small derail, but this is something else right now)

There's exactly one person derailing every thread containing the words Amstrad or CPC by posting some of the most absurd claims you can read about computers.
