Yes, as already requested, please share the driver. It would be much appreciated.

But no, the Retina ZIII uses a different driver, and they are not compatible, the chipset and entire gfx card are totally different, they just share the name. |

Yup, exactly. The Z3 is a much better card and totally different and incompatible with the Z2. From the documentation my dad had, there was mention of a beta driver (the email conversation was in 97) but as far as i can tell, he never had it. He's 80 now so he doesn't remember any of this and the hard drive in his system had siezed up so i couldn't even tell if he had that driver. Couldn't find it on the internet either. I'm not even clear how good this mysterious driver is, even if we found it... I pretty much lost interest.

I am playing ( cursing at rather ) with an A2000 with a retina z2. I think mine is broken, as soon as start any Retina related program like RetinaEMU my screen locks up and I never have an output on the monitor connected to the Retina. I tried to install the EGS driver but It gives me some error while booting about Retina that probably nobody understand because it might as wel be in Chinese.
Unfortunately the topic on a1k.org that is supposed to explain how it works seems to be gone. |

Think I've mentioned on another thread but I've never got the z2 to work in an a2000 with any gvp 030 accelerator but it did work for me with an a2630.

Also there is some interesting info in the Shape Shifter folder containing the Retina video driver.....and a program that you can use to change the memory of the retina that is "segmented"....and it claims it's possible to write a cybergraphics driver.

Frank Mariak had a Retina driver for CyberGraphX. Maybe the beta version some have already referenced. I think Frank is part of the MorphOS team now. Maybe he'd release the driver for those interested in using Retina boards. Or source code for anyone interested in working on it further, or even adapting it for P96.
