Top down shooter - Big hole at start of each level

I've been trying to find this game for ages, I've searched everywhere but cannot seem to find it.


It's a top down game, you could move all over the place, like Alien Breed. The thing that stood out to me was in the middle of the map where you started, was a big square hole, that if you touched you fell down and died. However once you completed the level or objective, that was how you exited the map, the hole turned into a lift or something similar.

I cannot remember whether you drove to each level, or just selected them from a map, but I'm positive that you could choose which order you did the levels.

I played this a couple of different times over the years, I think the latest I played it was 1992/1993, but I feel like I might have played it around 1990 but again I'm not 100% certain.

Alien syndrome perhaps? Level 2 might have had narrow bridges/walkways...

Total Carnage had a big hole into fall in....from memory

Wasn't any of the ones suggested, and it does kind of sound similar to the one being described in the other thread.

I am pretty certain you controlled a human character, and levels were inside buildings, maybe one was a warehouse. I remember when my friend brought it over something stood out about the name, but I don't remember what exactly. Might have had a cyborg or cyber punk type name, but I'm honestly not sure.

If I remember tomorrow I'll try and draw a quick picture of what I have in my mind ha.

Also, the game did play like alien syndrome, in that it was a multi directional scrolling game.

Not escape from the planet of the robot monsters or skeleton krew perhaps? Those are not entirely overhead viewed though.

victory road: ikari warriors 2. There is a big hole in the centre of screen in one level, but not remember if it is letal or only for background
