Speed test using SysInfo
I have the Fast ATA and the Indivision M2cr. The accelerator is Blizzard 1230 1V Phase 5. 256 meg of RAM. Fitted to a 1200.
My problem is: It is only reading 1,841,761 in the speed test on DH0. The mate says it should be at least 8 million and in some cases up to 10 million. The latest Fast ATA drivers are installed. Anyone got ideas please? Last edited by AshtonPete; 16 July 2014 at 19:30. |

Hello,
check your prefs/Fastata settings. Maybe the PIO mode is set to 0, it should be set to 4 or 5 (it depends on the compact-flash/hard-drive you are using). |

Cheers, at the moment I am using a 64 gb SD card, so I took on board what you said about what card I am using. With this in mind I reverted back to my old CF card for testing purposes and I got 5.5 million... So It may well be worth noting that SD cards are great to use but speeds are considerably slower. I still will stick to my CF though with Partitions at 1.5gb 10gb 6.7gb and 38gb running OS3.9 and Classic Workbench.

Have you tried the latest drivers? Only other thing....as I installed it over an Indivision the standard el-cheapo ic socket was useless so I got some machine pin ones which held on very tightly....much better ! I guess make sure all the pins went in straight and firmly pushed home. Other than that I really can't help as it just worked out of the box. Good luck ! Ash |

If you aren't using it, install PFS3, it will help too. So finally are you going to use a Cf or an Sd card?
With a Cf and the latest Fast Ata I get around 8.500.000, Pio4, that with an ACA 1230/56. The speed with the Fast Ata also seems to depend on the accelerator. Look this guy: http://www.amiga.org/gallery/index.php?n=3721 I bought the same Hitachi HD, but coudn't get more than with a Cf. Last edited by Retrofan; 17 July 2014 at 20:16. |

What would you all say is the best option for my 1200 in CF name etc. I see some very expensive ones on eBay.
Kingston is the cheapest but unsure if its the best for the job. Just for now I will be sticking with the 64db SD... Its set to Pio5 With help off the mate I'll get to setting up a CF for the near future. @Voyager, I have the latest Elbox drivers installed... Last edited by AshtonPete; 17 July 2014 at 21:19. |
