Some Amiga PPC demos (mostly MAWI prods) needed to be recorded in high quality thus Amiga non-PPC owner could watch them.

It's sad to see that two amiga ppc demos from Madwizards, Cruel Karma Forms and Till i feel you, still can't be watched by the majority of non-ppc owners (including me). Especially Cruel Karma Forms seems to be rated very highly by those lucky few who have seen it.

So i'm wondering: can we do something about it? Somewhere out there, somebody must still have a ppc and someone must have experience with capturing demos on video...

Before i start searching on other sites, any opinions or ideas would be welcome.

what capturing equipment is needed? all I have is a pci-saa7135 tv-card with vhs/svhs inputs....

Well in fact i don't know what requirement is needed to record the demos.

I don't know what gfx card you have except your pci tv card but isn't it possible to directly grab the video from the picasso for eg ?
I think VHI studio can do this, a bit as AHI can do a direct save of the audio output but i'm not sure.

I have no idea if picasso can grab the video... if it does, won't it slow down the demo?
I have 2 A4000's #1 has 200mhz ppc and a picassoIV+paloma+concierto and #2 has 233mhz ppc with g-rex4000D+voodoo3+terratec512i cards...

i quickly search on aminet and on Google but except for VHI studio (supposed to work a bit as AHI) and Elbox Mediator TV Tuner Driver which support video capture at 30 fps max, as i've not the hardware, i don't know more.

Hardware needed for Fluffy digital Snowflakes / MAWI is pegasos ppc amiga clone, graphics videocard, ahi soundsystem, 64 mb ram, morphos and about 015 megabytes of free space on hdd so it must exist a solution

I hope someone know how to do the job.

Is there a way to digitally capture the output so there is no quality loss? (I have CSPPC 233 with paloma+concierto+pablo + vlab motion).

Otherwise probably best way is with an external box via a high quality output from the amiga. If morphos is required, maybe pegasos hardware has access to better quality video out cards?

I must say, I don't know much about this ppc stuff, and whether powerup/warpos or morphos is required for which demos.

2 PPC demos have been captured using camera.

Quality isn't the best but at least you can watch the demo.
