I have the impression that you haven't read my treatment for the GURU:
the causes of the GURU may depend on: - Codesets.library - Library Hollywood "polybios.hwp + polybios.ext" If you use the libraries and RNOPDF FPU you must use a system with FPU What operating system are you using? |

It should all work as before as the programms you set are stored in the icon files. my deficons.prefs doesn't change these.

The system i used to test this is a wb3.9 with custom rom. FPU or not doesn't matter as both version crash. Don't bother to help me as i don't use pdf on amiga. But if there is some information i can give to pinpoint the problem just ask. |

on my system there is only one codesets.library in libs folder, not in mui. IF codesets.library has to do with mui (like you wrote yesterday) THEN it has nothing to do with that crash upon opening a .pdf file. because mui is for drawing/rendering windows on workbench only, it does NOT open any files... as i said yesterday, on my system there are no polybios.hwp or polybios.ext in libs/hollywood folder. rnopdf uses these files which came wit rnpdf. so rnopdf uses polybios files contained in rnopdf_68k folder and rnopdf fpu uses polybios files contained in rnopdf_68kfpu folder. i already said that too, so let me repeat: it's no matter if i use rnopdf fpu or nofpu, it crashes in both cases. |

@Honx
Are you using WinUAE? I just found a nice little entry in the Polybios manual: Quote:

And... the problem is WinUAE.
Well, the bug IS mentioned in the polybios manual. It bothered me so i installed wine and WinUAE 4.2.1. Same workbench same config and the pdf load just fine. |

Confirms 4.2.0 Stable generates GURU with polybios, with fix versions no problem

This is a troublesome little bug. If it weren't mentioned in the polybios manual i would've never thought that uae could be the problem. Normally a user wouldn't read manuals of the library a program uses.
Maybe put a note in rnopdfs readme as this can't be fixed on fs-uae. (fs-uae 3.0 uses uae core of winuae 3.3) It can take a while till fs-uae updates to 4.2. core. |

I'll add a note to the RNOPDF readme, but I'm not sure if I'm going to update the archives everywhere before a new actual version... maybe I'll put a note to the homepage first. |

Finally an update to RNOPDF, albeit a small one (for RTG & NG & Mac/PC... ECS/AGA version already got some of these features).
Version 1.4: - Exported images can be sharpened - Improved exporting to custom sizes - Added the WINSIZE tooltype/argument - Localization support - Fixed pathless file arguments - Other small fixes |

This is really great, but I have noticed that some older documents don't display properly (on OS3 at least) - the background appears to be the same colour as the text. The TVPaint manual is one example. http://ariko.free.fr/amiga/tvpaint/tvpstart.pdf Using APDF I get a white background with black text, but with RNOPDF almost everything is black. If the fault is with these old documents maybe it would be possible to force a different background colour in the settings? |
