How do I specify in Search/Replace gadget (RAMIGA+S) typical \r \n to specify LINE_FEED, CARRIAGE_RETURN etc.?

Not sure if this possible with GoldEd, but in CygnusEd you can enter Ctrl-I for \t, Ctrl-J for \n, Ctrl-M for \r.

To be able to enter these codes in a text field you have to disable "string gadget filter" in Prefs/IControl.

Is there an Iconify option for CED, able to close & reopen WB screen (no screen locks)?

1) how to search/replace for special chars like \r \n (LINE_FEED, CARRIAGE_RETURN...)?
2) how to display white-spaces characters (SPACE, CR, TAB)?

No. But you can keep it running in the background and re-open it with a hotkey or with the Ed program. It remembers all the settings and search strings, window size and so on. But you have to close all text files in order to close the main window.

Upon kind reply of GED author:
1. it can't since they are stripped from memory after doc is loaded in memory (but will be saved of course)
2. there is no option to display white-space chars
