amiga and old blitz basic prog - please help
Hi all,
I need someone to help me, years ago I wrote a prog. for displaying fractals, and uploaded it to Aminet. I recently wished to download the source listing, (fully public domain), but found I had dfficulty reading it (full of control characters), as I now only use a m*soft pc, It needs someone with an Amiga and the old Blitz Basic ( .bb2 file). of course I could email the .bb2 file, if only someone could put it in a format I could read (I can follow most of it, but the details are needed for a rewrite of it.) It is in http://aminet.net/package/gfx/fract/fraktool and is a fractal graphics generator program. I am halfway through my new prog. 'grafXtool' and am having to re-figure out the mathematics! Any help here would be gratefully received, of course regards, Brian Hills |

Hi, Brian, and welcome to EAB!
I see what you mean! I'll install my copy of AmiBlitz2 tomorrow and see if I can translate the Fraktool.bb2 file into something you can better understand on your Windows PC. |

Wow! That was a quick reply, Prowler - thank you for reading my request!
I was at a bit of a loss as to what to do, I searched my filing cabinet, but have long ago binned all my programming print-outs. I live in hope of getting my source code back! best, Brian Hills ps is one allowed to post an email addess on this board? the email address on aminet for that 'fraktool' is not in use any more. |

amiga and old blitz basic prog - please help
Thank you , Damien D for that,
my email is brian @ bhills.orangehome.co.uk, without the spaces. If you wish to email me Prowler, please do, I was an avid Amiga user in the old days, started with an Ohio c4p superboard, then Acorn Electron kit, then Atari 800, then Lorraine, as the first Amiga's were called. (sadly, pc's are rife) regards, Brian Hills |

Okay, Brian, I will email you the result if you prefer. I can't see that the translation will be of interest to others. In any case, it's freely available to anyone with a Blitz Basic installation.
