Patch for Workbench version requester
I am looking for a patch for AmigaOS 3.1, I dont remember its name, which patches the [about] version requester of Workbench to show additional information of the machine. Its not a multi-function patch like MCP or MCP [in the sense it does only one thing].
[MCP and MCX, both I guess, have a patch like this too, unfortunately I cannot use they, because they use MUI and I dont want to install it on a machine with near 14 MHz speed] I would like to remember the name of this patch, for me to be able to get it from Aminet... Anyone know its name? Thanks in advance! Last edited by Leandro Jardim; 31 October 2011 at 01:54. |

Unfortunately its not. VersionWB is a program to be used from shell. The program I would like to find is to be used from the Workbench "about" menu.
I am glad for your reply. |

Hmm. I think I am not writting correctly. Sorry for all the mess and thanks for the patience...
The patch replaces the "about" requester of Workbench (that with the Kickstart version) with a new requester, which shows more info about the machine. Its not the version command of AmigaDOS or the info requester of Workbench. |

No, unfortunately its not. But I am glad you replied.
In reality the only requester that patch that I mentioned replaced was the "about" requester of Workbench. Its exactly like a patch that MCP has builtin, that I dont remember its name, I think its the "about patch". But MCP use MUI and I dont want to install it on a machine with near 14 MHz speed. It is WinUAE to be true but I tweaked its CPU clock to 3.182298 MHz, that gives near 14.1 MHz according to WhichAmiga. Last edited by Leandro Jardim; 31 October 2011 at 01:49. |

The MCP patch is called WBAbout. MUI is only used for MCPPrefs (the config prog). MCP itself don`t use it. Not recommended: Search for "[WBABOUT=OFF]" in MCP.config file, replace it with "[WBABOUT=ON]" and save.
About MUI (if installed). It won`t slowdown your system. But a running programm that uses MUI is slower then intuition. There are not drawbacks with MUI installed. |

I agree, MCP, I know only uses MUI for its' Prefs program... And, I must be the only person running MCP with no problems.... (an a beta yet!) Anyway, had MCP on my A1200T for years and years, no biggie. I WILL grant you, finding and setting up a working version can be tricky... once done tho, it's pretty nice...
