Problem with my Amiga 500 and disk drive.
Hello,
I have an issue with my Amiga 500 and disk drive. The internal disk drive is stuck with write error message, it cannot write anymore. I received an external disk drive of A1011 and when I attempted to write to it..it get stuck on 1% and freezes and I need to reboot the Amiga. I exchanged it for Amiga disk drive 1010 which was confirmed it is working by video was shown to me and it arrived beautiful..no damage. However, it produced identical symptom of the A1011. Any advise how to fix this issue? By the way, my Amiga 500 have a DF0 switcher where it can assign DF1 as DF0 hardware installed. Do you think that played a role? I discovered even my internal disk drive does the same thing. I don't know how, but I managed to make it format and it too got stuck on 1% and frooze. I decided to remove the drive switcher and the symptom is the same thing. Any advise, please?

Smells like CIA problem - try swap CIA's.

I swapped it today. Same symptom. it look like I need to buy two CIA: https://www.ebay.ca/itm/204519298198...Bk9SR_SJu8nvYg but they are a bit expensive O_O

Paula and Gary are also involved with the disk drive.
If your internal disk drive can read, I would suggest to first check both drives and your CIA timings using Keir Fraser's Amiga Test Kit: https://github.com/keirf/amiga-stuff |
