Amiga 500 Sound Volume Problem

Two years ago, I hooked up my Amiga 500 to a TV using an RF modulator. The Amiga was in great condition and everything worked just fine. I regularly used the Amiga 500 for some time, after which I stopped using it. The Amiga remained unused on my desk for a while after that.
A week ago, I decided to finally start using my Amiga 500 regularly once again. However, this time I encountered a problem with the sound volume.
The sound volume would get louder and quieter automatically. This happens constantly... One moment, the sound is just as it's supposed to be; another moment, the sound is really quiet; and then again, the next moment, the sound is just as it's supposed to be. The sound volume uncontrollably changes all the time. I'm certain that the problem isn't in the TV.
I've never had this issue before.

Probably a bad connection somewhere. If a different cable doesn't change anything, see if jiggling the connectors does anything. If not, then the problem is probably inside somewhere.
If it has a battery somewhere, check that for leaks.

Intermittent -12V? Faulty audio cables? Bad solder joints at the RCA connectors?
