You can name them what you like as long as they have the .rom extension.

You can use the default path for the roms or select your own path and rescan.

I don't recall ever seeing a list but WinUAE supports all Amiga kickstart roms and with the new 3 series it also supports tocatta, accelerator, SCSI, PPC & GFX roms.

Only "official" list is in source archive rommgr.cpp file.

Flash based ROM images that can be in-circuit programmatically flashed require matching name (mainly cyberstorms and blizzardppc). Everything else is checksum based, name does not matter.
