5 more levels in Battle Isle 1.

I must say, while i expected the balance on some of these maps to be garbage, they are quite good. The difficulty curve is a little uneven, but once you understand the game mechanics, you can come out on top. Since the AI is stupid but gets tons of troops, it ends up being very tense and rewarding when you manage to struggle through.

Finished Astro Blox Revisited today. Great ending picture, and felt a yearning to play more. I wonder if sequels / extra levels have been considered by the authors...

Wolfenstein episode 4 is a grind. The levels are huge, they are crawling with enemies, they are full of endless tunnels and a level commits the cardinal sin of a mandatory secret (that you have to find to be able to complete the map).

Kingdoms and castles. A tower-defense game with enough parameters to alter the gameplay to actually make it fun

The true cardinal sin is that you can lock yourself out of secrets or 100% kills if you push a wall in the wrong direction or in the wrong order. I guess they did everything to inflate the difficulty and create at least some idea of originality in levels.

Been playing Nightmare Reaper myself since it got out of early access and is now 100% complete. If you're a classic FPS enthusiast, it's a high recommendation.

That looks really cool. No mac version unfortunately.

Yeah, you can definitely tell they started getting cheap with some of the levels. A lot of rooms that are just a horde of officers or SS chilling in a small room with no cover.

Episode 5 is down. These just keep getting worse and worse. Every room is full of Nazis and the only tactics you can employ is either trying to kite them out or just hold down the trigger and hope for the best. Boss fight was dull too.

Also standing in a door way is a death trap. There's a pretty wide angle where you can't see an enemy on the screen but they can absolutely see you and will slot you for 70+ damage.

If you think it can't get any worse than the last Wolf3D episodes, try Extreme Rise of the Triad That was commissioned by Satan himself.

Half way through episode 6 of Wolf3D. I see a door I dont have the key for and its open. I gun down the guard and run through. Pick up a bunch of goodies, save the game and...now Im stuck. No exits and I just wrote over my save.

Good grief.

On the upside, I finally beat the last map of Battle Isle 1. Had to restart once and I thought I wouldn't get it this time. Ended up having to use the heavy tanks and buggies in costly attacks on enemy air units, but we pulled it off.

I've been playing Dune 2 again and I'm hopeless addicted (again)

Sounds so good with the mt32 MIDI and looks so good on my CRT that it's like being back in the 90's.

Unfortunately staying up to 2am is much harder now that I have to get up for work in the morning

I'll try and do a quick video of how good it is

I finished The Evil Within, and really enjoyed it. Good, gory fun.

I will give Horizon: Zero Dawn a go next, given the hype for the sequel.

I am also playing Guilty Gear: Strive. I like how it's a hard rock / prog metal themed fighter. I really enjoy listening to the soundtrack while I'm at work.

Gran Turismo 7 now and then
Besides that all kind of train simulators.

Btw: There was a train simulator on the Miggy, if my mind doesn't play tricks on me. It's been written in Basic and you had to drive a steam loco, iirc.

Is there anybody remembering the name of it?

I have in fact finished the last Wolfenstein 3D episode. All 6 episodes beaten on the third difficulty. Now I can probably go the rest of my life without ever touching this game again
