Prometheus or Mediator?

To be used in my A4000T I might be getting one of these for cheap ethernet and maybe usb solutions. What are the differences? Which one would you recommend?

I use a promethous, works great with the voodoo I have in it.

No PCI USB solutions are available for the Amiga. The Mediator one will not work because you can't register Poseidon (USB stack) for Elbox products.<- Long story short.

For USB you need a Deneb or other board with built-in clockport and a Subway.

So do you think buying an XSurf (which has a clockport according to its description) would be a better choice if I want to network my A4000T? I might get a USB device with it.

Deneb with USB network adapter is much more versatile.

You cannot register Poseidon at all anymore. It is only available bundled with E3B hardware. But it is now open source so *potentially* there should be no need to register.

But the later versions of Poseidon had a block for the Spider driver even if you were registered.

I imagine someone with the right skills could remove the block for the Spider driver & the need for keys from the open source and recompile for OS3.x 68k? Not saying it is ever going to happen though.
