Breakout

Looking for game of the same name(=Breakout), it was sold with a rather weak top view car racer in bundle i remember(not on the same disk ).
possibly i was only sold in germany...

its oviously an arkanoid/breakout clone, very very good one indeed, and was not of major softwarehouse if i rember right -that would explain why they had no fears using the name "Breakout" directly.

edit:- it might have been named "Break-Out" as well, hmm ...
but either one of those 2 alternatives for sure

my copy broke some years ago so an adf is needed for that

with Hall Of Fame you can look for game-types like this search for Breakout type games.
maybe you find it this way.

very useful for sure but for this task didnt have it.

I actually found Arkanoid not very exciting because i always favoured the thing i am looking for- such great gameplay

so if anyone has it
would make me happy

So it should be some Public Domain game. Try Crack [ Show youtube player ] or Paranoid [ Show youtube player ]

You could try to find the racing game:

http://hol.abime.net/hol_search.php?...re_viewpoint=9

and then perhaps you might find the associated breakout game.

Or try to track some of the games titled Breakout in this list:
http://obligement.free.fr/articles/listejeuxamigab.php

although those seem to be essentially freeware/shareware so it might not refer to the game you are looking for

I think the Breakout clone you're trying to remember might have been called Bouncer, which was released by a German publisher (Diamond Games).

Bouncer was also released by the same publisher in a compilation named Arcade Classics, which also included a top-down racer called Brands Hatch.

Does either game bring back any familiar memories for you?

If not, then how about another game by the same publisher, Break?
