Two small niggles with the WHDLoad version though:
1) The map of the islands goes by in a flash.

Probably due to the quickest loading times..

2) Not really a fan of 4 x rainbows, would be better if the trainer options were 2 and 3 rainbows.

Agree with you. But at least you can choose to activate it or not. The problem with the previous trainer was that it was impossible to deactivate it.

EDIT : Well, good news : doing exactly the same thing as with the previous trainer, i am no longer stuck at level one. So the game seems to be fixed and i find this version far better than the previous one (more care in the trainer, far more options, easy reset, etc...).

The .ADF I used only had unlimited lives and level select.

There was no number of rainbows options or anything else.

Yeah, apparently the level select was broken and made the game loop always on the same level.

It's no longer the case with the new one.

And I was just saying that when a trainer is broken/not to your liking, it's far better when you can chose to activate it or not.

Level select in the previous adf -> Cannot deactivate
Number of Rainbow in the new hdf -> Activate or not

So everything is good !

Ok, just tested "Rainbow Islands - The Story of Bubble Bobble 2 (1990)(Ocean)[cr QTX][t +2 Slipstream].adf" and indeed, even if you don't touch the "Start at level" option it won't progress past "World 1 - Insect World".

Crazy, how did "Slipstream" not test this properly?

Funny thing is; Gamebase Amiga also uses that same disk that I did. I really wonder why no one spotted this previously...

I don't need anyone to "back up" my project...

I work in IT as a 3rd line technician; and am quite capable of taking my own backups.

Just as an FYI, this project is already backed up to:

1) A secure file hosting website.
2) One of my many external hard drives.

I asked the main man ross if he could quickly hack the WHDLoad .slave to be the following (just like the original limitations), for use in my collection:

• Press <1> for 2 x Rainbows.
• Press <2> for 3 x Rainbows.

This has now been done, many thanks ross!!!

The "Permanent Everything!" trainer option has been left as it, so it still has "4 x Rainbows" applied... but who'd every use this trainer option?

Anyway, please just download / extract this archive into "C:\WinUAE"

I work on the project alone. This way I have full control and can make sure that my high standards in terms of games added / setup / testing etc. are always kept.

What sort of support or contributions were you thinking of? You can suggest games for me to possibly include via this thread: Request for any gems
