Floppy disk

I have dumped more applications from my original amiga disks which seems absent from Tosec DAT.

I have uploaded them in the Zone. It might be of interest for you Amiga Tosec maintainer to add these disks.

Tosec Set: Commodore Amiga - Applications - ADF
ADF Name: Disco-Scopie v2.0 (1990)(Esat Software)(FR)[extended adf][KS1.x]
CRC-32: 232a9cee
MD5: 7abd047cb91b212446f347e907e2e3b1
Description :
This is a hexadecimal editor, disk copier and disk explorer. It requires Kickstart 1.x machine and the dump needs to be in extended ADF because it includes a copy protection. This extended ADF works fine under emulation.
I must thank dlfrsilver and Keir Fraser for their help to convert the kryoflux raw dump I made to a working IPF then an extended-ADF cf. https://eab.abime.net/showthread.php...13#post1463313
I can provide the IPF file if it's better for Tosec submission.

Tosec Set: Commodore Amiga - Educational - ADF
ADF Name: ADI Maths 4eme (1991)(Coktel Vision)(FR)(Disk 1 of 2)(Lancement-Environnement)
CRC-32: 64ce6593
MD5: 31e6a1028803a74187c97459fe349c4e
Description : French educational game for the "4ème class" level (around 13 years old). The copy protection is color paper grids : one for Environment disk and one for Application disk. You need to swap disk in DF0: only
Beware the game ask for floppy write protection to be removed and alters this floppy. Hopefully there is no savegame on my original (I had copied the original to an empty floppy and only used this copy)

Tosec Set: Commodore Amiga - Educational - ADF
ADF Name: ADI Maths 4eme (1991)(Coktel Vision)(FR)(Disk 2 of 2)(Application)[extended adf]
CRC-32: 8e9ba6c3
MD5: a9e7d16ec79b5ff9bb1297eecd540129
Description : Actually the second disk is MS-DOS 720k formated, so it needs to be in extended ADF format. I guess the editor bundled this "Application" disk with Atari ST and PC versions too. It works fine with A500, A500+ or A600 Winuae quickstart config. But I noticed it does not work reliably with A1200 Winuae config : get stuck reading track #38 of this floppy disk.

Hi Jami,
thank you for your detailed contributions. There are currently 2 problems with your files :Extended ADF files are very rarely included in TOSEC because it is not an ADF. The solution could be to include the IPF but we don't have an IPF section but SPS and it's not the same!
I've been thinking about including unofficial IPFs for a while and it will happen but not for the next release

Don't worry though, I won't forget you when the time comes

@Crashdisk. Who take care of all the .iso and .cue files in TOSEC?

@ma693541
There is a candidate who has not officially declared himself but who wishes to take over the section. I don't know if his project is progressing but he had planned a first result around the 3rd quarter of this year. We will be fine ;-)

Crashdisk, can't the MSDos disk be preserved as same format as other PC disks?? Does it need to be an ADF or eADF or IPF?

I am considering the possibility of converting the eADF to IMG 720kb.
However, I have never tested this on WinUAE...just like the 960kb sparedisk

@Crashdisk, the reason for asking about the .iso and .cue files is this: Why don't we have an .dat collection for the Amiga Future Discs in TOSEC-ISO?

I don't know the reasons for the absence of these CDs or even if it is intentional. We will see with the new maintainer

I am glad to read that an unofficial IPF Tosec section will be created to preserve such kind of software.
I keep safe the unofficial IPF of Disco-Scopie made by Keir Fraser.
Feel free to contact me by private message when you need it.

The IMG format is supported under WinUAE, as stated by Toni Wilen :
http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?...67#post1093967
I tested "ADI Maths 4eme (1991)(Coktel Vision)(FR)(Disk 2 of 2)(Application)", which is MS-DOS 720k formated, in 720k IMG format under WinUAE and it works.

I can provide you the IMG or IPF image directly converted from my original floppy.

Could .IMG image be included in Amiga Tosec ? This is the most efficient format to store this floppy but isn't IMG format a bit odd in an Amiga set ?
I had thought Extended-ADF (or IPF) is more standard in Amiga set.

Hello Crashdisk, i have finally fixed correctly the game Strider cracked by Vision factory.

I found that tracks 11,12,13 were corrupted, so after extracting them with ADF workshop, i have fixed each broken release.

Please check the zone for the pack

Hi dlfrsilver,
I am currently checking the "Daley Thompson's Olympic Challenge" game. Concerning the doscopy problem of the Quartex version, there was already a proper version.
Code:
     Special disk_____*[B556369B] Warez scene - KKapusta 1 - 0698_1
     |_DOSCopy_________[0200560B] Warez scene - AMYCD 2 - MLB - M201A
                       [02A1F512] Daley Thompson's Olympic Challenge (1988)(Ocean)(Disk 1 of 2)[cr QTX][b doscopy]
That's when I noticed that your version fixes another version that is apparently a bad dump. Is there a particular reason?
Code:
     Special disk_____*[C0918E88] 0727 - Daley Thompson's Olympic Challenge (1988)(Ocean)(Disk 1 of 2)[cr QTX]
     |_DOSCopy_________[705FFF0C] Contributions - Christian Langeland - Amiga Dump FH - 0727 - Dailey Thompson
                                  WebRip - c64disks.hvilket - 0001-0999 - 0727 - Dailey Thompson

yes, it was bad due to track 40 (with 32 bytes wrong in sector 880).

it's the 2 disks release.

The version you have chosen to repair is affected by a doscopy problem but also by a error in a data area.
Code:

You can never really be sure if an error like this is random or if it's deliberate, like a hack or signature but it doesn't make sense to me.

So yes, you fixed the doscopy, but the copy is still not "really" good...sorry

I think that program was born on Amstrad CPC (like me), I didn't know it grew up on Amiga after that (like me) !

I suppose it was a commercial failure sine I never herd of it.

Fun fact: when I read "1 rue du Tondu", it sent me back in time, CPC days in all there glory! For some reason that address was hard-coded somewhere in my brain

I hope TOSEC will find a place for it, it's historical data!

Disco scopie was made by the french amiga engineer Frederic Sol, and was quite known in the 90's. Frederic Sol was a genius a making crazy protections, he did some on CPC and also on Amiga.

I compared it with the original disk version. So it can't be wrong. And then with an error, you would get graphic bugs or a program error.
