Hi there guys.
I had a hankering to play some Space Hulk. N.B. Ages ago I downloaded Pimiga 1.5 (MF edition), which appears to have almost the complete TOSEC for Amiga apps and games, and I'm using their version of Space Hulk to try and play this game. Issue: The game loads (to a certain extent) but it soon asks for disk #3 However (on the TOSEC archive) although there are x3 disks for this game two of them are numbered as disk 1. I have tried all disks (inc disk 2) and none will allow me to progress or recognise that 1 of these disks is disk 3. Troubleshooting: 1. I've loaded each disk in an emulated Amiga, and looked at the contents for each disk 2. The MD5 Sums of each disk are as follows: Disk 1:cc6971270674a2c9d3ff2f86ac190f32 Disk 2:8cc3631ea9862b1ed633e46c65964495 Disk 1 (This is the 2nd version/disk called disk 1):59d3e979f76e401b985d31f5c3474b6b 3. Although disk 1, and (the 2nd version of disk 1 which I originally believed was disk 3) Have very similar contents, there are some minor differences and the disk size (in KB is different) Disk 1 = at 88% full (733K used / 103K free) Disk 1(3) = at 99% full (831K in use / 6K free) 4. I maunually (via Workbench) renammed the 2nd version of disk 1 and called it HULK_3 To see if that helped - It didn't 5. After further investigation (using D-Opus) I have been able to get a copy of each of the disk's contents. It appears that they may been x2 versions of disk 1 Here is an output of both verisons of disk 1: 5.1. Disk 1 (1st version / disk) Code:

Questions: 1. Does anyone have Space Hulk that works properly ? 2. Are your disks numbered properly ? 3. Can anyone check (inc the contents of their disk 3) to see if it differs from my version, please ? as you use FS-UAE on linux you can install the game on workbench 1.3 and run with no problem. Require or reccomended 2 MB RAM

I went over to the TOSEC archive on archive.org, and re-downloaded all of the
Space Hulk ADF files. Luckily the correct version of each disk was in the set, so I was able to load and run the game properly. I died horribly, and quickly but at least I can play the game now. Cheers. |
