But it is also important to close and start the WinUAE every time before testing!
I can confirm, music really doesn't start playing. But attention!!!!
Everybody here always write about some QS configurations, but unfortunately, nobody says what compatibility mode is used and that's absolute basis. Because compatibility "Best" vs. "Low", it's like heaven and hell. I mean, for some testing should be always used "Best" compatibilty mode (But we can see it everywhere in EAB, where there is a talk about some Quick Start, so there is no info about compatibility).
So again, in "QS A500 1.3 ECS 512+512" with best compatibility, the music really doesn't start playing. All other compatibility mode works correct (music is playing).

@ross

Thank you for the explanation! (yes, that could be the reason)

@Velociraptor5

Regarding Best vs Low compatibility slider you are right. I am not sure why this still exist... what is the point?
(Btw. I always use Best compatibility mode)

At least, choosing the quick start should place it to Best compatibility automatically (is that right?), but it not! (I do not know why)

@amilo3438
I bet that you have also DF1 ticked.
The demo bug need a cycle exact CPU / disk DMA timing event, it is truly an unfortunate coincidence.

About the compatibility slider.. there are those who prefer more speed in emulation and give up on a bit of compatibility.
In fact it could also be included in the Quickstart preconfigured options, try asking Toni

Set and test every compatibility possibility and look, what is changed in CPU tab, Chipset tab...
The closer to "low" the faster (everything, but more incompatibile). Also you are not able to use JIT with 020+ in "Best" compatibility mode... there is more reasons..

No, it is unticked!

Btw. before b5 the problem do not exist.

Ps.
BTW. I am on latest W10 version, everything updated! (next would be W11 but my current machine do not support it)

Ah, ok, I'm in a (latest?) winuae.7z version and it need DF1 ticked .

It is therefore possible that in the next version the problem will not even appear again in any initial condition, given that very little is needed to change the situation.
As you saw in a previous post Toni couldn't replicate it on his version, so I wouldn't bother with this demo.

I still don't understand why I still can't reproduce. I launch WinUae RC2, I select "Quickstart A500 1.3 ECS A500 512k + 512k", I load the demo in DF0 and I start the emulation. The music always starts before the title screen. I don't encounter the problem. I'm on Windows 8.1 and I don't think that changes anything compared to Windows 10. I give up for this demo.

Probably because internal pseudo random number generator was changed. Every disk rotation length is randomized (few bits only) and now it probably creates condition that this demo fails to handle due to bad track loader.

This is not the first time this has happened. Works as designed but can be annoying. (There is always some demo that breaks this way)

(Did you only change the CPU or did you also use totally different config? Don't do that if you did it )
Yep, tested even without SSeq:

Started from config in signature (060 JIT), with F12 I've changed Chipset > Cycle Exact (DMA/memory). This is enough to run the game in a sort of slow-motion using WinUAE >4.9.1...

Even without running setpatch?
If you enable on screen leds, does it show continuous >100% CPU usage?
Does it still happen with today's winuae.7z (make sure datestamp is today). Any differences in CPU% value?
You also have subpixel emulation enabled which can cause heavy extra CPU usage. Try without it.

I can see higher CPU usage (which is expected) but nothing too heavy.

Must be running with SetPatch or will refuse to launch (is the AGA version). Subpixel disabled, cpu_memory_cycle_exact true:

4.9.1 (no slowdowns), subpixel enabled, cpu_memory_cycle_exact true:

With previous WinUAE versions including 4.9.1: "cycle_exact" or "cpu_memory_cycle_exact" were enough to fix start/end level text corruption...
With this new WinUAE 4.9.2+ it seems to slow down music tremendously when cycle exact is on with 060.
Cycle exact with 060?
What Kickstart and SetPatch are you using? I tested several CPUs with FastRAM on 3.2.1 and can't reproduce.

Adding cpu_throttle -900 makes it usable: cpu usage 25-53% max and no music slowdowns...

I still can't duplicate this. But because 68030+ "cycle-exact" is also not recommended to be used (just like CPU speed adjustments): this is not going to be "fixed".

Beta 11 (RC3): This is going to be final unless something critical happens.

- Fixed magic mouse without virtual mouse driver installed in RTG modes. (4.9.0)
- Memwatch N flag was not cleared when watchpoint was reset.
- Syncronize clock option was broken, when active, CIA-A TOD was stopped. Broken when CIA emulation was refactored (b1).
- Small 68040+ "cycle-exact" adjustments.

Will the future version 5.0 be just a bugfix of 4.9.10 (as mentioned in the first post) or will there be other major/minor improvements ?

Mostly bug fixes and some OCS/ECS emulation features (accurate garbage pixel emulation when horizontal mid screen resolution change, some disk emulation cycle accuracy checks that no one cares etc..) that were left for later.

Any major improvements would mean: December 2023 release

Hi Toni

WinUae 4.10.0 Beta 10 RC2 (64bit) works very well here with AmigaOs4.1 FE Update2 G-Rex Voodoo 3 configuration.

I didn't change anything except updating the PPC Qemu plugin to a newer version. It has also become a bit faster.

They are great. I love them :-D

WinUae runs under MacOs with the help of Crossover (windows emulator) and yet it is very fast. Please give me a nativ MacOs arm port from WinUae :-D

My Hardware:

Mac Studio Apple M1 Max - 10 Core CPU / 24 Core GPU, 8C+2c/10T, 28MB Cache, Codename "Firestorm/Icestorm" (ARMv8-A64, 5nm)
RAM 32GB LPDDR5-6400mhz

Many thanks....
