to eject or not to eject?

i realize caution should be taken when ejecting floppies as to be sure there's no drive activity when doing so. my question... on an A500, if no drive rumbling is apparent but a green light indicating drive activity continues to remain lit, is it ok to proceed with ejecting a disk?

Yes, some games leave the drive light on even if there is no disk activity, so in this case it should be fine.

One of my amiga 500+'s wont read floppies once its loaded up i.e when you turn it on it displays the start screen with the animation showing insert a floppy but when you do nothing happens, if you restart the machine with the floppy in it loads it fine :S. Any ideas what the problem could be. thanks.

Im guessing your talking about an original A500, that had the Red Power light and Green floppy light?

When you turn it on without a disk in the drive does the drive light turn on at all? Could simply be the disk-sense switch isn't working so good and needs a clean/replacement (easy).
