It's now been renamed to AGA (Amiga Global Alliance). Hopefully this doesn't mean a split and possible legal dispute...

I don't see the need for the £35 a year fee, why not just have a free tier so loads can join, and offer the digital downloads and higher membership level for those who decide to pay.

I think they probably wanted to avoid the unfortunate sound of the acronym in Spanish, since "caga" is both the third-person singular form of the present tense and second-person singular form of the imperative of the verb "to shit". So, esentially, "he/she shits" or "you shit".

I think the name was the least of the problems with this initiative. A lot of people respect David Pleasance because of his work in Commodore UK, but I'm not sure the niche he's trying to fill still exists.

They should have really tried harder than AGA or CAGA. At least the Superawesome Amiga Global Alliance or the United Amiga Global Alliance if they believed in it. Or even if they thought it was really good the Xtreme Amiga Global Alliance.

I'd say they should have gone with The People's Front of Global Alliance Amigans.

Ah, Yet another DP Kickstarter ...
*TFW* You've backed his other kickstarters and eventually long after the delivery date received the item or the book was split into two volumes so more money ... er, three volumes ... Mo Money, Mo Money, Mo Delays

So I already have most of the bonuses offered

I'll just sit back an see how this plays out

It's getting very crowded over on the dark side... and we know what happens to vampires when they spill out into the sun.

I think he might need a hand with proofreading unless AmigaBill has moved to Winchester to set up an Amiga group.

Tbh the Kickstarter looks terrible.
1. David Pleasance himself has never backed another kickstarter, this looks awful considering the number of kickstarters he has done. He hasn't even thrown a few quid to another cause but expects folks to continue to support his causes.(absolutely nothing against the man but it looks terrible)
2. All the testimonials are from people who are directly involved/hired for the project.
3. There's no clear view as to what this is, reads as just another forum, what's the point of another forum?

You mean to tell me that this looks like a cash grab and not like a great idea to revive the Amiga 'ecosystem'? I'm shocked!

DP is a nice guy, but by his own admission, he was the salesman. Shift stock ASAP, no interest in the HW and even less in the development of new tech.
The Kickstarter is nothing more than a paid access forum. Hard pass.
