Carrier Command lock-ups
I've got Carrier Command on a few adfs, though they're all the same crack by the looks
Carrier Command (1988)(Rainbird)[cr Defjam - CCS].zip and I find it keeps locking up on me. The position read-out on the dashboard is misrendered too. The game can play nicely for half an hour or so, but may lock-up sooner. Anyone else got this? I'm under WinUAE 1.x running A500 OCS (but other configs do the same). Is there a different version someone could zone? Cheers |

Make sure you type something at the password prompt and then hit return, its an extra protection to make sure you entered something. |

I find that too, with my Defjam cracked ADF. In fact, I think I remember finding that 12 years ago, back when I first played Carrier Command on an actual Amiga. The cracked version would always lockup after about half an hour, so I bought the game, and that version worked fine until the disk got damaged. Then I bought it again on budget, because I liked the game that much
So is there any chance anyone who's got a Carrier Command disk image that isn't the lockup-y Defjam one could upload it to the Zone? Thanks! |

I'm pretty sure, so long as you enter something at the protection check and then press return, the Defjam version will not hang.

Please note that the zoned version, only have the Copylock protection removed & not the Novella!

Hi!
I'm playing Amiga the first time in many years now and I'm trying out all the games that I found. I noticed I have Carrier Command too, but I can't play it because I don't have the program protection password. Does anyone here remember what it is? I'd hate to miss a great gaming experience just because my cat ate the manual. Cheers |

Ah, I see googling for IPF caps and carrier command
You find a Software Preservation backup of your Original disk but you cant use it because the cat ate the manual heh heh. I think that WHDload removes the manual protection if you're ok with using that. |

I remember the 1st defjam crack hung after 20 mins or so
It had the title screen included, novella protection removed and a defjam green/yellow coloured scroll, single packed file the next crack came out 1-2 weeks later or so, single packed file, title screen removed, novella was back but you could enter anything you like, and the defjam scroller was the lightblue one. I remember you could copy the original with XCOPY nibble mode. |

There was at least one cracked version where everything appeared to work fine, but after capturing a few islands your refuelling barge refused to supply you any more, which meant the game could not be continued. The WHDLoad versions play fine, and there was a PC/Amiga release on a single floppy, where the Amiga version was just one file, no copy protection I don't recall if it had manual protection from the accompanying instruction sheet. I don't think so. |
