Those were the days, I'm glad I was there, too bad nothing like this exist anymore. Those who were not there can't understand how it was, and I'm sorry my childs will not live stuff like those.

Is it me or does the stuff in that catlogue look cooler than anything of today?

I love stuff like this... strange how an old catalogue turns to gold?

Well the gardening tools haven't dated. And some of those Flymo's look better than the modern ones...

Seriously, I used to look through Argos catalogs all the time as a small kid and I'm sure I can remember these pictures! They are all so familure, like I've seen them many times before.

How times have changed. A lot of that stuff does look pretty darn cool, some more exciting than in todays modern catalog.

Great find; thanks for posting.

I still remember the dream I had when I was about 10 years old where I visited this small museum full of old Argos and Index (does that company even exist anymore ?!) catalogues. That was all the dream consisted of, probably the world's dullest dream

Great pictures.

Computers were a lot more fun and exciting back then. It's all very grey and sterile today somehow, and I don't think kids learning computers today feel the same excitement many of us did back in the 80's. I'm glad I was there!

I had totally forgotten that as a child I played games like Crossfire, Haunted House and Frustration (including the Pop-o-matic dice!!)
Just seemed to have blanked these types of game out of my memory - it's probably due to the fact that my brain has over loaded on video games since...!

I wouldn't replace my Xbox 360 with any of my childhood toys - f*** nostalgia!

looking at the first page scan I've actually still got that universal power adapter as well as that Atari 2600 Model, used to use that adapter for the NES, Master System, SNES. Ah memories.
