PatchCompositeTag is Odyssey beta 05

Hi Thellier,
I have also used PatchcompositeTag many times to run "blade runner" with ScummVM
Today I tried the new beta of Odyssey 05 I tried the full screen and it only works with PatchCompositeTag
unfortunately the screen remains black even if the sound is heard very well.

I wanted to ask you if it was possible to correct something to make it work, and is it possible to do it?
Is it worth it?

PatchcompositeTag is supposed to works in many case
(but is not a .library so is not supposed to be called from many programs at the same time)
I suppose Odyssey full screen use a screenmode that is not supported in PatchcompositeTag
Better is to use A8R8G8B8 that is optimised in PatchcompositeTag
Also check that WinUAE got/use this screenmode in something like preference/gfx card

You can also test option q or Q (see doc) as many programs only use compositing for drawing quads

You can also try "pat d" so you will see (depug) if PatchcompositeTag is called during full screen
It seems there is something bad that happened as PatchcompositeTag end and say "0 bitmaps"

About updates : I am confined with an other PC : so no winuae, no sources...

Seems that now Odyssey is using CompositeTags to do the YUV conversion for video playback
YUV is not implemented in PatchCompositeTags
That is not impossible to be done but I dont know if it will be fast enough to have any utility...

I did a series of tests but I didn't send you the logs.
Because they probably wouldn't have been useful to you.

If I can somehow be useful, and if you have the time to let me try some beta, I would be happy.
Keep in mind that my configuration works perfectly with all applications for the 4.1FE Classic
Odyssey is very fluid with Youtube and works perfectly on my configuration.

Even if PatchCompositeTag is slow as you say I would like to try a possible beta.

If you have some debugs send them zipped to thellierĀ¤free.fr
So I will know
what operator is used ("Operator: COMPOSITE_Src" ? )
So i will not need to implement all composite operations in YUV to only make Odyssey works ;-)

Thanks, late tonight I will carry out a series of tests, probably mine is a configuration a little out of the box but it works.
I hope this does not create confusion for your work.

separate note:
any RTG table I use on the screen with the script "YouTube_Fullscreen_Fix.js" still remains black and only audio is heard.
But now the bitmap is no longer zero.
I will do many tests.

One last question to be more precise:

The choice of the chipset
Can ECS DENISE or AGA affect the PatchCompositeTag 1.35 currently?
Or does this choice have no importance in theory?

Certainly the full screen destination bitmap (=dst) is in a format that PatchCompositeTags can use (like ARGB) BUUT the source bitmap (src) is in YUV format that it dont know how to read/convert

ECS or AGA got no importance as the screen use RTG (=uaegfx video card ) not the chipset at all

In fact PatchCompositeTags only read and compose pixels from a bitmap (src) to an other bitmap (dst) in memory : the hardware is not used for that it is pure CPU code

I'm running a series of tests, but at the moment I can't hook a right RTG table for PatchCompositeTag.
Also I'm fixing some things, I haven't written to you yet because I have no relevant topics.
While, on the other hand, I can now run videos on Youtube full screen, but obviously the videos are very slow.
This is without using the actual composite and also without using your PatchCompositeTag.
I was wondering if you can give me suggestions on how to set up the RTG table to enable the PatchCompositeTag or if it is possible to create an alternative program similar to the PatchCompositeTag only for Youtube videos.
Here a video on the test I'm running, I hope it will be useful.
Here the resolution is very high so the video is slow:
