CIA Timing too slow and freezing

I’ve got a 1.5 A600 that won’t boot. It boots diagrom but failing the CIA test, it also freezes every so often when running the CIA tests. It’s been recapped, new caps and resistors around the CIA chips, I’ve spent hours tracing the lines from the CIA chips, I’ve removed and refitted the CIA’s, CPU, Gayle, Agnus, Paula.
Ive managed to get it to boot the original Rom twice but it was short lived.
Could a faulty CPU be the cause?

Of cias are not surface mounted have you tried swapping them?

They both throw up the same issue so swapping them won’t help.

Then its unlikely to be both cias at fault

I agree, I think it’s around the cpu/Gayle area. Someone suggested that it could Possibly be the Eclock from the Gayle. I’m going to do more test tomorrow.

The CIA chips are very fragile. They often fail on A500.
Sad they are not on socket on A600

I've had an a1200 with both CIAs failing their timers. I couldn't believe it, but first I replaced the first one with known good, saw it made a difference, then replaced the second one and had a fully fixed amiga.

Such is life. No idea why the timers died on both.
