New a500 56pin header

Hi

Anybody know where I can get a new 56pin header (on the motherboard) for trapdoor memory expansion on the a500. Mine has been damaged.

It's pretty ordinary 0.1 inch pin header, should be plentiful on eBay, e.g.:

or

Just cut off what you don't need

Can confirm, I just ordered these, cut off the excess and fit them today. Work a charm.

Now if I could only find a corresponding pin socket strip that fit the board on an A501 I would be happy.

@Vypr

Those are available also, although again probably not in the exact length:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/322064970947

They can be cut by pulling out the pins from the correct spot and snipping with pliers. A file or sand paper will take care of the burrs, probably won't even notice that it has been cut if you do a tidy job.

Unfortunately they won't work, the distance between the rows of pins on the board is double the distance on the normal sized headers.. e.g the header on the pins look like this:
.............................
.............................

While the mount points on the board are like this:
.............................

.............................

Ah, it's the kind where the other row has pins right at the front? That may indeed be more difficult to find.

The one I built was not a A501 exactly but a clone, which uses the "ordinary" layout for the connector.

Think I found the right ones. Not cheap but they should fit.
