I will first test the 1.5.10.1 patch for stability, yet I strongly assume that there will be inode errors sooner or later again. This will take a LOT of (debugging) time, which I do not have at the moment. And there is absolutely no chance that I will release a patched set which is able to produce inode errors in no time! |

ok that's cool.
I had trouble using the 1.5.10 images with the 1.5.10.2 boot disk, Eek White background with black text = sore for the eyes. |

Hey Andreas.
How did you manage to upgrade? I'm trying this for real now on my A1200. How did you use the transfer command? Do you use the origional 1_5_10 boot to apply the patch before running the 1_5_10_1 ? the 1_5_10 doesn't seem to like my A1200 and the 1_5_10_x boot disks don't seem to like the 1_5_10 disks, as when I login and try to do 'ls -la /" it brings up a error |

Oh, you're trying on real thing, that's something else.
Well ... best way of patching from 1.5.10 to 1.5.10.1 is to read both the boot.README and HOWTOINSTALL attached to the 1.5.10.1 patching package! There is also an updated boot disk for 1.5.10.1 included! (boot.lha) All in there, together with *highly* important fixes for commands needed to match with 1.5.10.1 / 1.5.10.2; I wager that's why you get errors with ls! If you cannot find these files, I will upload the whole 1.5.10.1 upgrade package. |

Nah I was having trouble patching it on my A1200 damn it.
The 1.5 boot disk didn't like the 020/aga. and the 1.5.10.1 boot disks didn't seem to like the 1.5 root disk . any way, it's pointless now, my A1200 screen is busted. |

Sure thing.
Same for you: 1.5.10 ORIGINAL is in the zone, but 1.5.10.1 or .2 will have to run absolutely flawlessly until I can "release" it. |

Hi,
I'd suggest to get the images from here: http://aminet.net/package/misc/os/Minix_Amiga Then, you must create some custom disks from WinUAE (they are about 2Mb each.) Then, format each of these custom images using CrossDOS. Put the original Minix images into a folder (to be seen as a hard disk by Amiga DOS). Then use a tool to write disk images, for example yadi or tracktool. For example, after inserting a formatted WinUAE image, with yadi you would do something like: yadi w disk02 PC0: This will create a Minix image disk which is recognised by WinUAE. Make sure that none of the disk images are write protected, otherwise Minix will not mount the /usr filesystem properly. Hope this helps Antonio |
