About this forum
This forum has been created due to the huge amount of interest that has been generated from ripping Sprites/maps/tiles etc from Amiga games
The forum will be modded by Myself, X_to and Synthetics_w The purpose of this forum is to have separate threads for each game we are ripping gfx from (so we don't clutter up 1 thread!!), a more centralised specific area for help & advice etc.. This forum is not for any old junk, don't post pics of badly ripped sprites or sprites/maps/tiles that don't follow the strict rules! Remember if you are unsure then ask! |

yes there were tutorials written by me, but unfortunately the sites were deleted in a way that i don´t understand...
nevertheless i saved the 3 first tutorials and could send them to you...if you like... the rest of the stuff is sadly deleted forever... edit: no way...even the first 3 tutorials are lost...maybe one day there will be new ones... Last edited by Joe Maroni; 07 April 2005 at 12:41. |

I have problem to find palette for Rick Dangerous as i tried to rip this. I think the sprites are in ST mode. But still the simple, and advance mode doesnt get me any possible colors.. How does the palette from picture work?

Firstly this is a thread ABOUT the project so please start a new thread
Secondly you probably cannot find the palette so you need to screengrab and do colours manually! |

maybe its useful to notice that it´s nearly impossible to find the correct palette in SP mode in fact that hardware sprites uses another method of color selection than Blitter objects (Bobs) and bitmaps...
don´t make an effort to search the palette in this mode...it would never work... |

Also another thing to note..
Most gfx use the same palette data for 1 level. So my advice is: If you rip say a sprite from level 1 of a game and set the palette externally, save the image as a bmp and use the "C" command in the sprite ripper to load an external palette. Select the modified bmp and it'll drop the colours in. Hopefully setting the colours for other sprites note: this method doesn't always work but it worked for Captive (I had to do Captive in various parts, setting a palette and then editing colours of others I missed, after 3 edits I had all 32 colours correct) and also Warzone |

Since all the threads informing about the sites containing the sprites are locked, and the sites are down, may I ask here, where could I get them?
I'm after a few pure level/character sprites from various games to play a bit with the SF editor |
