Putty Squad remake will not include 3.5" Amiga version :(
So says Mark Cale himself in this Eurogamer interview:

It's obvious that they don't have the disk OR it's degraded over time and is now unreadable / not duplicable.

that's not the problem. This guy wants to make money out of it, and he knows that if he release the disk images with winuae, people will pick them and copy them.
He is afraid of piracy of an old amiga game..... |

It can't be that because the SNES ROM has been available for years!? Anyone wanting to play PuttySquad without paying can just emulate the SNES version.
The new game has lots of new features and any Putty Squad fan would buy it as well. I cannot see any other reason other than the Amiga version of the game is actually lost. |

He's been happy to string people along for years because its helped bring up brand awareness, we will NEVER get the Amiga version, and that's pretty much it,
Anyone got the twats email address so I can impart my feelings on the matter? |

For anyone who doesn't want to sit through the whole 9 minutes 30 something seconds of what is basically a PS4 game advert, I suggest just jumping straight to 7 minutes in to hear the confirmation that - surprise, surprise - Putty Squad STILL WON'T be coming to Amiga any time soon (or most likely, ever).

Listen to his reasons for not doing it - "It's not supported by Sony" "We'd have to convert it"? WTF is he on about.
No ones asking for the original Amiga version on Playstation! |

What did I say? Anybody that held on to this hope is incredibly naive.
This game doesn't fucking exist. Period. If it ever was finished (I DOUBT IT) it's long fucking lost. Give up and don't buy that piece of shit PS version , if you have any decency left, you would be wise to boycott this asshole and his "new game". I wish there would be a collective decision and shaming of this jerk, but there won't be. I bet there will be people who will still buy this Putty Squad shit off what they read on Retrogamer magazine!! I can try to contact someone from there and see what they think. |

My gift to Mark Cale. Hopefully Google will index it nicely so his name will appear with the word liar beside it for the near (and far) future...

Ok I'll stand down. Naive you may call me but it wasn't that at all it's just I'd rather not hold a grudge and hold out some hope.
There you go, shit happens. |
