When will the damn iPhone/iPad emulate Amiga?

It's well into 2015, when will the damn iPhone/iPad have a respectable Amiga emulator?

Officially it won't happen, Apple don't like apps that load external files as it could be used to hack IOS, Google on the other hand don't really seem to give much of a toss.

This is understandable.
However, I see that some apps (ebook readers, pdf readers, etc. etc.) can download files via Dropbox, for example.
So I suppose that an Amiga emulator with Dropbox support would be tolerated... or not?

fuck knows, its all rather pointless. those that really want to hack IOS can and have already done so, so its a moot point.

Pretty good.

My Samsung Galaxy will play virtually any ECS title with no issues, other than the odd mouse/keyboard controlled game which can be a pain swapping menus.

It would only be available to jailbroken iPads as Apple would have far to many issues with its control of hardware. Also the legal implications mean they would instaban anything like that from the App Store.

UAE4Droid. Earlier versions were crap, but the author retooled it about a year ago and its very easy to use with ADF images.

Its not as technically competant as UAE4ALL, but frankly, i'm no fan of that APP, its not as intuitive to get running, UAE4Droid you can be booting an Amiga game in ten seconds if that from the first click of the icon.

Ah OK.. I've been using UAE4ALL2 which is fairly easy to use as well. Just had problems with loading Rainbow Islands as it would get stuck on black screen after loading screen just before the game play screen loads with the music and you press fire to start.

IOS is the most restrictive bullshit that existed
it restrict bluetooth it restrict software, restrict developers and many other things with the purpose to make money in the web, control piratery, spy ppl and make the ppl more stupid

apple designed iphone and ipads for women and nerds and stupid ppl

for smartphones and tablets, android or windows 8 is the way to go
being windows 8 by far the best option because Android sucks in many things

For me the difference is:
Android = freedom to do whatever (doesn't require rooting for the most part).
iOS = restricted to signed software unless jailbroken. This is coupled with greater stability and ease of use.
Quoting my honorable friend "women and nerds and stupid ppl" use both sets of phones lol.

Amigapad worked quite well when my iPad was jail broken. There were a few games I tried that didn't work though.

Iphone:
- Their Wifi is broken so you have to toggle Wifi all the time cos it won't switch to 4G when it breaks.
- IOS 7 broke push notifications completely. Not a biggie!!
- IOS 7/8 made everything look like flat Windows 8 crap, taking Apple from previously a developer of nice looking UIs to a company that doesn't know the first thing about UI design
- with every OS update the phone got more and more like molasses
- some phones brick by updating the OS. Not a biggie!!
- pathetic 2001 earphones with joke sound quality
- Apple completely messed up their account handling with ICloud and App Store
- When you've sorted the accounts, you get incessant popups asking password. It can't even remember it for 5 minutes.

Android:
- just plug it in, drag your music and movies to the folder window that pops up.
- not a single problem for 2 years. I'm not kidding.

The stability factor is pure fantasy. I'm glad I switched, I have a trouble-free phone now. I don't even have to think about it, it just works.

PUAE is not to bad once you get it setup, plus it supports RTG / internet.
I use it to mirror my current real A1200 setup for gaming.

How do you get around the new external storage lock down. I hate the new way they have screwed android up.
You buy a phone and cant even install updates, because they made storage virtual and stopped write access to sd card, .
I had to jump through hoops to hack it and symlink folders and give sd card write access.

Well, you buy an Iphone and you can't even insert an SD card. They're completely non-expandable

Anyway, I use the free app File Manager to navigate everywhere and do anything I need with files (for me, it's just for running .apk installs that I've compiled and dragged over).

Under Settings > Storage you should see a chart of your usage and: Mount SD Card, Mount USB storage, Transfer data to SD Card - the last one is prompted automatically when the card is getting full. You get no warning on Iphone 6 though.

KitKat seems to be trouble though. Advice is to reformat the card from the factory FAT32 filesystem with newer one, then apps updated for the KitKat release will be able to write to the SD card again.
