We are compiling a list of dead 3D animation software for Amiga
We are compiling a list of dead 3D animation software for Amiga and wondered if we can get help. HOL is a great place to look up old Amiga games but nothing is available like that for Amiga productively software. We know Tornado 3D died but what other 3D animation packages on Amiga have now given up the ghost? Please don't make us dig up all our old Amiga Worlds.

Thanks for the vote of confidence P-J. Since you seem to be so passionate about Aladdin 4D would you like us to send you your own original copy for free?

P-J your negative comments about Aladdin 4D is surprising and disappointing. Did Nova Design steal your cheerios or something? Whatever problems you might have with Nova we are a separate company and have done you no wrong. All we have done is pour money into Aladdin 4D. We are currently doing R & D and don't even offer Aladdin 4D for sale on our site.

Aegis Animator.
Was not 3D (no ray tracing etc.) but polygon manipulation could simulate 3D effects a bit. There are also others (real 3D this time) not mentioned yet... I have to check my TOSEC. |

Well in fact calamari IS squid (and squid is calamari - just different language).
POVray was indeed ported to Amiga (as I remember using it on my A4000). |

Imagine can still be bought and the CUP to 6 still (appears) to be running.
turbo silver (from imagine developers) is gone. Aladdin is dead for 68k series, hence I won't get a copy. I won't get any of the old amiga apps for PC, as I own a legitemate copy of max8 that I used to use for xbox360 game dev. and now use for DS/PSP dev. but now my 4000T is running again, I may well purchase imagine just to see if I can do better than my original 90's work. and it's more than capable of ds quality work, and then some! I'm sure there are more...i'll dig through my old cover disks and mags. Last edited by khph_re; 09 February 2008 at 21:44. |

There was Hash’s Animation Apprentice and possibly Hash’s Animation Journeyman. Also Traces, the origins of Blender.

Real3D is dead, surely? It didn't even use meshes or polygons, but it yielded awesome HAM results like the copper teapot I so vividly remember.

I was actually looking at a bunch of these recently, and some are still for sale, but the development seems to have halted quite a few years back. Almost like someone is trying to squeeze the last bit of value out of a dead product.
